Have any of you noticed a difference in Cams deep throws?

Seemed like he was putting more air/arc on the ball.  Drop it in the bread basket son.

Definitely threw the rock with better touch, I'd credit that to his better footwork. Young buck is progressing.

The touch was very noticable which can be credited to the OL play and having a pocket to throw from as many have stated. We still need to develop a short passing game. On numerous occassions I notice guys open underneath which will extend drives.

It was all arc. Cams always threw the ball flat. That's why his seam routes that scream down the hash to Olsen have been his best throws. Even his end zone throw to KB last night had more loft. Makes it easier for the receiver to adjust

Deep ball was working for Cam last night. The one he missed to Brown was damn close. That's something I've missed the last couple of seasons, we need more big plays.

His touch was much improved. Scratch another 'weakness' off the list. All that's left is anticipation.

Well much of it is simply continuity, and confidence. The QB/WR have to trust each other.

Last year the only speedy guy we had was Corey Brown, and Newton had to develop chemistry with him on the fly. Now that we have Ginn back, we see how immediately him, and Cam got back to where they left off in 2013. That alone is going to go a long way in helping our deep ball game.

Anderson was doing the samething.  Its cool to see really.  Everything coming together.  Ol doing their job, rbs pick up blitzes qb can take his time placing the ball and huge recivers boxing out corners.  Only one preason game...i know but look at it this way, we are just getting started :-)

That deep throw to Ginn was beautiful. He dropped it perfectly into his arms. 

The one to brown could have been caught, but I think he made a poor cut on the ball

The really cool thing is, nobody sees it coming. Once Cam gets his timing down with 3-4 receivers...the NFL gonna blow up real good.

In all the years I've watched preseason, I've seen loads of QBs - even the best of 'em - look rusty in preseason.

I agree he looked rusty, but I kind of expected that and it doesn't really worry me.

Plus a KB fell down on one throw, Corey was a bit slower off the line to get the pass. A few were covered well. Over all newtons passing attack was strong. Sadly our running game wasn't and it showed. Normal good yards from runs didn't exist. So I do see him much improved

The throws from Cam->Ginn and DA->Funch were things of beauty.   Cam does have a much better touch and arc on his deep passes (obviously this is just one game though).  I hope Cam can also develop a good pump fake for his arsenal like Big Ben.  Then he'll be deadly.
