Not a single person on here is expecting him to replace Kelvin. If we are expecting anyone to do that its funchess since his size. All we are asking philly to do is to stretch the field and catch the ball. He's simply not catching the ball which is something every other receiver on the team has done better than him so far.

PRESEASON Mother truckers!!!

Yes it's preseason and should be taken as a try out or evaluation for every player like DG say. If Brown is being evaluated then their are others that has out preformed him (Boykin). If DG really evaluate players like he did Smith, then there isn't any reason Brown ass should be starting.

His drops are moral killer for the team now.. I like other like the fact that he gets open consistently. . But the number 1 job of a WR is to catch the ball.. Wide open and contestant ones.. And right now he isn't doing either.. We need to change as a FO and a Fan base. . We have standards now and mediocrity isn't one of them.. Gettlemen said the best 53 and right now he isn't. .

given how many drops benjamin had last year, I think Philly is replacing him just fine ;-)

he's almost caught up to Benjamin's total for the entire season in two preseason games.

6 drops in two preseason games on 11 targets with 1 catch vs Benjamin's total of 10 on 143 targets and 73 catches.

Brown's drop/target/catch rate statistics in the last two games might actually  be historically bad.

Per Voth's stats:

In the Carolina Panthers’ two preseasons games since top wideout Kelvin Benjamin was lost to a season-ending knee injury, quarterback Cam Newton has attempted 38 passes.

When targeting tight end Greg Olsen, Newton is 6-of-9. When targeting his receivers, Newton is 9-of-20:

  • 4-of-7 to Ted Ginn
  • 4-of-4 to Jerricho Cotchery
  • 1-of-1 to Brenton Bersin
  • 0-of-8 to Corey Brown
