4-0 vs. poo

Lumps

Recommended Posts

With KB out for the year and Luke, CJ, and Cotchery being out, 4-0 is impressive to me. These were games we should have won and we did. Remember, Ron Rivera's teams get better throughout the year. I really think teams like the Falcons and Bengals are peaking early. We save our best performances for December (and hopefully January).

You can only play who appears on your schedule on a given week. Have we played sub-par opponents? Yes. Have we played great in all aspects of every game? No. Can we get better? Yes. We're not where we need to be, but we're winning the games we should win. There are no such thing as style points in the NFL. Break it down to play-to-play. Our team is looking to win on more plays that their opponent and so far they've been able to do that. We're light years ahead of where we were at this point last year. You wanna critique play calls; our teams weaknesses? Go for it, but saying we're doing this against nobodies is nonsense because we don't make the schedule and these teams aren't rolling over.

Those are four wins we're going to need come playoff's time ... won't matter against who (unless there's a tiebreaker). You want to go somewhere in the post season, you beat the teams on your schedule.

This isn't college football where we can tweak the schedule for rankings and a shot at the national championship, lining up just enough pushovers and just enough real challengers to have a shot. You play the schedule the NFL gives you, one that is very similar to the ones the other teams in your division play. Teams rotate through the league to eventually play everyone over the years, and you've got two games a year that are targeted at providing a game of matched capabilities based on last year's performance.

It's hard to win games in the NFL, every danged team is filled with pro players, there are no Norfolk States or Elon Colleges on the schedule. Four wins with no losses, that's golden, an A+ effort.

I'll be the drunk negative nancy here, the realist, anti-fan whatever you guys want but let's put this into perspective.

Jags

Texans

Saints without Brees (their only player left)

Bucs

None of those teams are even close to playoff caliber teams. I don't understand why everyone is so ecstatic. Is this what we've been reduced to? Hoorahing over beating up on arguable the 4 worst teams in the NFL? That's sad, and someone has to point it out. I mean look at these teams we are playing...they're garbage.

If we come back from the bye and beat the Hawks, I'm all in but as of now we have yet to prove we're a legit team. It is what it is.

You would prefer to lose to poo teams?
