The reality: It means the team is smarter than to put itself in the position of depending on someone who has shown themselves to be undependable.

Or defending. By not standing up for GH some said the Panther org. doesn't care about players.

Good read.. I will admit that several months ago I was all about the "keep Hardy, win at all costs!" Group but I have had a change of heart. Seeing just how good Gettleman builds this team along with Rivera and the coaching staff and seeing how we aren't a team that doesn't need big name players, I realize it's not a good idea to fall in love with individual players

Its also why I have changed my stance on signing FAs, I guess you can say that I finally "get it." We need guys that are young and hungry and have the true desire to win, not guys that are looking to get paid because of their name recognition alone.

Its why I'm so torn on re signing Norman. On one hand I would love to keep him but on the other hand I'm just not so sure he is a "no brainer" keeper like Cam and Luke are

That's the PU I know.

Hardy had one off field incident and it's domestic. A domestic incident doesn't make someone a head case. Fighting in bars and carrying loaded guns, well, you get the point.

Hardy's behavior makes him a head case. All the guns, the stuff with Holder, his blow up in Dallas... the guy's a loose cannon.

I think Hardy has proven more than once he was crazy. He'll he has already gone crazy this year.  I loved Hardy and his style on the field but he really is a ticking time bomb.

I thought about Braylon Beam when I saw those pictures of Nicole Holder today. I just thank God that Greg Hardy is off this team and that Braylon and his family haven't been exposed to that poison behind the scenes.

Doesn't it just feel good to be a Panthers fan today and not a Cowboys fan? Imagine having to root for him Sunday night after seeing what he did to Nicole Holder.

I'm proud that, as far as I'm aware of, every single player on our roster is someone little kids like Braylon can look up to. 7-0 WITH 53 role models...the best of both worlds. How lucky we are.

I think Norman is a core part of the team like Cam or Luke. He is smart and wants to be here. He was young and egocentric but he has learned and grown immensely. Obviously we have to be able to afford him and that is between his agent and Getleman, but as a football player he is a high character guy despite his on field antics.

With peanut getting old, we need Norman to solidify the secondary. He finally gets it, now is the time to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Personally, I didn't like keeping Smitty on the team after he tried to maim Ken Lucas.  Now, I know that cutting him would have been bad in hindsight, and we went on to win 12 that year, but I never really liked the idea.

That said, at least both of Smith's major F ups was done "in the building" and not out in the street, but they were still really bad.

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
