No, but we did overpay a guy who should be fighting to hang onto a roster spot in the league in order to pretend like he's an actual viable backup seemingly to ensure Bryce feels no pressure breathing down his neck from his backup - pressure we absolutely should've been trying to create this year. -
Narrative still is different for some. That view it like you just laid out. Getting off the glass half full wagon and realizing that is kind of a nice sounding way of saying you are a half short of a full glass, produces a different take. -
Sometimes it' about what you DON'T do. I'm not sure what the future holds for BY, but DMo didn't make the situation worse by overpaying a declining vet or reaching for a mid-tier draft pick. Nor has he extended BY beyond picking up his 5th year option as insurance. Sometimes when you get handed a poo-sandwich you just have to take a bite and hope that something better is being served tomorrow.
