He was and is to this day one of the most puzzlingly clueless secondary players we ever had suit up. 

I remember when he was drafted the Observer/Panthers.com always had articles about him staying late to learn his new position. The picts would have him with arm around John Fox  taking in all the extra coaching.

After 7 season he has always missing tackles and not understanding how a zone works.

I think he would be hard pressed to play Madden and explain route concepts to a 10 year old let alone explain McDs defense to those Knucleheads in Atl.

Godfrey helped to lay the foundation for one of the league’s top defenses after being drafted by the Panthers from Iowa in the third round in the 2008 draft.

lol Godfrey was never the same after Peyton Hillis trucked him into Narnia. We should activate Brandon Wegher for this game.

Godfrey was a serviceable safety before he tore his Achilles.  His contract dictated that we try to make it work with him in the nickel. He was truly awful before we released him, and that fact he can't crack that lineup speaks volumes. Good for him for being able to still collect a paycheck.
