Official Divisional Playoff Thread - Seahawks at Panthers

Never should have been that close. Ron says we won't go conservative... so we do a LOT of three runs and a punt in the second half. Happy we won, but nervous now.

Newsflash for the coaches, Arians likes taking big shots downfield and they usually make those plays. If we do this again next week, we're in serious trouble.

We have some work to do on our defense before next Sunday!!!

That was the coaching/play calling. Almost the entire second half they were playing soft. They wanted to let the Seahawks complete passes underneath and keep them in bounds.

100% coaching decision. Brought some attacking defense after the Seahawks got 2 TDs and threatened a 3rd on their 3rd drive of the second half. 4th quarter they went back to the shell to run clock with the defense. Dumb.

It's like we start sucking when we get up big.

It has nothing to do with starting sucking.

If our coaches would LET our players play, they are as good or better than anyone in the league.

A conscious decision to go into a total shell and run the clock out should not reflect on the PLAYERS.

Ron Rivera turned the NFL MVP into the highest paid cheerleader in the league in the 2nd half because thats what he CHOSE to do.

It worked.

But it was ridiculous and it was ugly.

And these Carolina Panthers players could have EASILY won this game on their own, but Rivera had more confidence in his 12th Man, The Clock, over and above his players.

I am, they needed this wake up call. They thought they had it won at half (again), and Seattle made a game of it. We should go no huddle for the rest of the playoffs, Cam is at his best with it.

how many "wake calls" have they had during the season...already...it is sad how it played out...just glad for the win, though

Are you proud of how that second half played out? Do you think that poo will fly against Bellicheat?

It's been our whole fuging season bruh.  Seattle is a damn good team, just like everyone in the playoffs.   I'm proud we did worse to them in the 1st and won.  poo happens like that in the playoffs.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
