Larry Fitzgerald vs. Cortland Finnegan

If we can get similar production from our Dline that we got against Seattle then we'll be fine. If it was Palmer and not Wilson back there we would have had close to 10 sacks that game. Will definitely be interesting to watch how our secondary holds up.

coleman will roll coverage to his side of the field all day. he'll also get help on the intermediate stuff from the linebackers, who will often drop into coverage on his side of the field. this will of course open up stuff for other guys on their offense, but that's what blue chip players do for you.

the defensive line will be key to this matchup more than they usually are.

It's about time we stop keeping Norman locked up as an outside corner and have him on Fitz every single play next week regardless of where Fitz is lined up.

We have one of the best shut down corners in the league, I frankly think it's pathetic that he won't be matched up with a future HOFer because the other team likes to use him out of the slot.

Their coaching staff puts him there as a strategic advantage, so not moving Norman there is just bad coaching IMHO.

It's just like how everyone would rip on Sherman for only playing one side of the field and not following the other team's #1 WR.

It had made sense to keep Norman outside instead of moving him in the slot against guys like ODB, Norman doesn't have the top end speed to cover the slot full time.

But Fitz isn't a burner, he plays out of the slot because they like having their speed outside and reliable hands inside, no reason Norman shouldn't shadow him.

Except that most of our defensive schemes involve zone and changing that would screw up more than one thing. We know our identity. And that has gotten us this far. I agree with the other posters saying that pressure on Palmer is the likely key. I haven't decided if blitzing is the way to do it yet. I need more information to form that opinion. Blitzing opens you up against a good QB. I like Luke and TD covering the middle as usual. Luke proved he is otherworldly just last game. But I definitely don't think we should change our scheme to cover one guy.

This looks to be a big, big problem on paper. Thoughts on how we can stop him? (I realize there are other great receivers on their team too, but this particular matchup is the one that's making my head hurt.)

LBs will have to do their part in the Passing game, I say let Luke handle the run and let Davis roam around in pass coverage.

I agree with this 100%. RW is the most slippery QB the Panthers will ever face, and they got him 5 times and caused 2 turnovers.
