What Cardinals Fans Are Saying

This turf excuse is getting annoying, don't you opposing fans know that we're just a bunch of hillbillies that make moonshine on our .5 acre trailer park mountain? We don't know how to grow that kind of grass and we usually are just playing banjos, blowing into jugs and slapping our shoes to entertain ourselves. We finally got a Walmart 40 miles above us and we spent hours looking at all those shopping carts, my SIL had a heart attack when she discovered there was more in the store. Guess we can fertilize the field with our chewing tobacco pots.

Camthers refers to Cam being the face of the franchise (from our perspective), so you would have to get rid of Carson and find a way to work Larry Fitzgerald into the Cardinals. We all like Carson Palmer as fans, but it is the #11 jerseys that are sold continuously.

And if you are into football, here is a look into Carson and our offensive game planning process from MMQB a little while ago. More than anything any of us Cards fans could describe to you obviously:

That virtual reality stuff is crazy. I think Luck was the other guy that was really using it.

as for the camthers, do y'all do this for any other face of the franchise? I suspect not. We realize we are a small market, young franchise. But your fanbase will be in for a rude awakening about how complete this team is come Sunday.

For our organization, we have players on this team who will have statues outside BoA, hall of fame players that will be synonymous with the Carolina Panthers. We are still building our history for generations to come. Guys like Kalil, Olsen, Thomas Davis, kuechly, Kawann short, ect. Will go down in our history books as some of the best players to ever suit up for this franchise. And we will be telling our panther fan grandkids about them. Us Panther fans really do believe we are on the cusp of a dynasty and that isn't fan talk hoping. We've been through a lot watching this franchise over the past 20+ years with the ups and downs

We believe our two pillars on O and D will go down as some of the best to ever play the game.

so when you guys say camthers we say fug you.

I've been browsing their forum since Monday morning and 9 out of 10 posters seem reasonable, but I don't know why everyone is saying the Camthers? I feel like it's the most lighthearted insult ever, or just an attempt to be funny? I have no idea..

Also, has a single Cardinals fan registered on the huddle yet?

It's the same as people thinking the Patriots are only Tom Brady and Belichick or that the Packers are Aaron Rodgers or that the Colts were just Peyton Manning or that the Saints are just Drew Brees. Every single one of those teams has had superstars at other positions that get largely ignored by opposing fans because of a superstar QB. It's the nature of the QB being so much more important than any other position. Is it a dumb name? Yes, absolutely. Is it insulting? Not really. If anything it is complimentary. I think it's nice to actually have a QB at that level.

that analysis was spot on

I'll say this- during the Newton Rivera era of the Panthers we have struggled against the Cardinals- Cam particularly seems to get sacked a lot - they have a variety of creative blitzes. Cam is a much different player now, but damn I would be lying if I wasn't nervous about playing the Cardinals at home in the playoffs.

Defensively if we don't get to Palmer and rattle him causing dumb throws or sacks we could get burnt. Arizona has three bonafide wr's and our secondary continues to get thinner by the week. Please lord let Robert McClain channel the ghost of Ricky Manning Jr. this weekend.

So it turns out the Cardinal fans are pretty knowledgeable and reasonable based on this small sample of information.

The Cardinals simply don't have the personnel to stop our viciously brutal rushing attack. They are built for speed, and we're built to maul and open rushing lanes for Stewart, Cam, and Tolbert. When we win at the los they will be in deep poo. Here is what is going to happen. They will load the box to try and stop the run. Cam will be given favorable pass coverage to throw to our WRs. If he's on target, we win. If plays sporadic, then the outcome depends on if our defense fugs up Palmer or not. I love our chances. Star and Short are going to push into that pocket and cause hell.

I was thinking Arianzona Carsinals? But after spending 1.6 seconds on that name, and typing this response into my phone, and correcting the typos from my stupid thumbs, I've realized this is fuging stupid and I'm sorry.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
