It's still surreal

Yeah. Watching us destroy the cardinals was one of the most surreal experiences. after all the years of "we should win, but we're the panthers" but then we won, and we won so convincingly that it looked like we were one of the greatest teams ever assembled.

i mean, I joined this site in 2012 after stumbling upon it looking for an article that escapes me now. Obviously my knowledge about football expanded immensely in a short period of time and I found myself reading and studying Panther football more than I ever had before so that I could provide my own insight and feel like i was returning the favor for posters who had enlightened me on some things.

these past several years of arguing, debating the direction of this team and what we thought was the ceiling for not only individual players but collectively what our ceiling was for a team and what we could accomplish IF ONLY

that IF ONLY is now a reality and it just doesn't seem real. It was like I had envisioned cam, luke, td, Olsen and Kalil on that stage and then I had to pinch myself that what I was seeing was actually happening and I couldn't even speak all I could do was smile.

Seriously????

What? I mean, I like that she wants to know more about football and all that. But...I am just not sure that after all these years I suddenly have to share my Panthers with her. She already owns everything else in my life. Don't I deserve just one thing for myself?

The wife and I have been together for almost 25 years. For 24 and 1/2 of those years I had to fight to watch sports. Now, if something comes on talking about the Panthers, she lets me watch it. I don't have to go to my room and watch it, she watches it with me. She has even taken it upon herself to learn some football.

Not sure how I truly feel about this. Sports used to be my thing. Not sure I like sharing the Panthers. I mean, I love her to death. But part of me kinda want my Panthers back. Does that make me a bad guy?

Ahh the Panthers.....bringing sports hating wife's and football loving husband's together in married bliss (;

If I remember correctly, media day is Tuesday of Super Bowl week.

Zod might want to upgrade the servers that day.

This year media day will be on Monday, not Tuesday.

Super Bowl Media Day has taken on a shift this year, and is referred to as Super Bowl Opening Night this year. That will take place on Feb. 1 at the SAP Center in San Jose. Fans will be able to see players and coaches address the media and plenty more.

Yeah, it's like we're living some alternate reality. I empathize with the Earth 616 version of me.That guy sighed a few weeks back and said, "Well, KB will be back next year," and mentally moved on to the off-season.

During the Cards game a buddy texted me about how none of teams he follows have ever been dominant like this, and it's a weird feeling to be almost bored during our blowouts of the best teams in the league.

i still don't think it's hit me. i'm not even viscerally excited. it's an abstraction.

I feel like it has just been too easy. In both games there was so much domination that it just feels like a regular season games. 31-0 at half time vs SEATTLE. 34 point win vs AZ (who was considered to be the most balance, and possibly the best team) in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game. I think if the games were closer it would be more believable......

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
