NFL suspended Falcons CB Jalen Collins four games for violating the league's policy on PEDs.

He was one of four players suspended Friday including Jaguars CB Aaron Colvin, Packers CB Demetri Goodson and Titans WR Andrew Turzilli. "We are disappointed to hear the news regarding Jalen today," said head coach Dan Quinn. "I have already spoken to Jalen about this and have no doubt this will be something that he will learn from." Collins failed to record an interception while appearing in all 16 games for Atlanta as a rookie in 2015.

he was their 2nd round pick last year....and his was his profile before the draft

A tall, physical cornerback who can handle the kind of press coverage Dan Quinn likes. His question marks include three prior failed drug tests and his level of refinement, but Collins is likely ticketed for starting duties outside.

and from the Falcons board

Dude is a bust like I been saying.

Writing was on the wall for this guy. In college, he played in 39 games, but started only 10 times. Add in 2 or 3 failed drug tests at LSU. Atlanta GM Thomas Dimitroff must have crossed his fingers and hoped for the best drafting Collins in round 2. Collins did participate in all 16 games, starting 2 of them. His season stat line reads 17 tackles. That's it. No Pass Break-Ups, no INTs, no Forced Fumbles.

Hahaha, the Falcants got Troffed again

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
