Lets get this out the way, Panthers Are Not Going To The SB Without Josh

Was there a single game in the entire playoffs that not having Norman would have changed the outcome?? Come on let's know overreact

QBs and defense win super bowls and we still are as well off as anyone at both of those aspects.

We get Bene back who was out during the playoffs as well and I'm sure we will add another one in the draft. Maybe Brandon Boykin can be this years Kurt Colman/ Mike Mitchell although we shouldn't count on it

We run a zone defense with a great front 7. Norman is a tough loss but we will be fine without him

We all thought we were done when Benji went down last year but clearly one player doesn't destroy a teams success outside of QB

Yeh, you're right. Getty did this without any back-up plan at all.. He's the worst GM in the league.. Oh, wait a minute.. He just got NFL Exec of the year.

the main thing that's making me lol about this is that factor.  like he just did it on a whim with no backup plan.

ask anyone, gettleman is just the village idiot who cheapskate jerry richard$on was able to bring in on the lowest bid.  he's just been lucky so far and it's all a fluke and he's just riding "hurney's core" which is literally our quarterback, a corner, two linebackers, a defensive end who was injured for most of the year, and a center in 2015.  the amazing panthers who went 15-1 with only 6 players out of 22 on offense and defense worth anything resembling a poo.

edit: 7 or 8 depending on how you count stewart or tolbert.  i don't consider either of them "core" players on the same level as kalil, luke, or cam but if i'll concede if someone is desperate enough

Fellow Panthers fans, let's look back at last season: we lost KB to his knee injury and many of us, including me, thought we were done. But, no, we made it to the Super Bowl.

We trusted in Gman to get us through and he made decisions that Marty Hurney could only dream of....he's made many of those same decisions and look where we are now. He has $31 million in cap space and we know he is a man that has made smart moves for our organization.

Josh is going to be a tough corner to replace but I have faith. Hey, Josh may even decide the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence and he wants to return like CJ. Who knows? For me, I'm glad we have Gman making the call.

    • Poster board? Were you trying to use the term poster child?
    • I mean, you're acting like we don't see the tippy-toe bunny hops, jump throws more than normal (with both feet dangling in the air every which a way), and off-platform but off-balance throws that arrive short or sail high. Could that be bad mechanics due to being short? Could a seeming propensity to bail the pocket towards the sidelines early as opposed to sitting in the pocket tall and strong, surveying his reads, be an attempt at trying to see an open throwing lane? I'm not saying that what you're saying isn't a contributing factor to what has been an underwhelming display of executing the QB position, but this is year three, and if the lightbulb hasn't switched on by now---if you haven't figured out that guys are faster, stronger and generally more athletic, then what's it going to take? It's hard to forget that "mental processing" was supposed to be Bryce Young's superpower. Are you telling me that he can't nail down such an easy concept as, "I can't get away with the things I did in college at the pro level," is that right? If he can't get past that, then that surely limits his ability to successfully execute all the other stuff.  Look, I'm not trying to be flippant. I acknowledge that playing pro football is more complex than a lot of fans realize, but all we can do, as fans, is observe. One of my favorite things to do is just look at the greater picture and think what part human nature is playing in the many decisions that are being made or have to be made. You're absolutely correct that fans don't know exactly what's going on, but that is by design, and in many ways it's just the nature of the beast. Some things we can't know. That being said, the professionals screw the hell up all the time. The professionals disagree all the time. These disagreements can be within the same franchise or from franchise to franchise. And sometimes these decisions are all over the place, so excuse me if I ain't exactly buying the I-know-more-than-thee sentiment and that that means that professionals always make better decisions than fans would about certain players. Some of this stuff is simply luck or a crapshoot.
