Are you expecting much from Charles Johnson this year...

As long as his health last season was the real reason for the drop off in production I don't see why he wouldn't look like his old self. He will also be playing for a contract unless he took this 1 year deal as 1 last shot for a ring before he hangs it up.

If Kony continues his momentum from the superbowl, I could see the D line rival 2013. I believe the Panthers already have the best DT group in the NFL. (or tied with LA) Add a solid rookie DE and watch out.

To be fair, he wasn't healthy until, damn near the playoffs.  He looked pretty damn good after that.

Well before his injury and late...he still underperformed IMO what was expected.

I think he is here now cheaper because he knows he isn't that guy anymore.  He can still be a good vet though...

It would nice to see either him or Kony get somewhere around 10 sacks

If short keeps playing like he did last season and Kony comes to life like we expect,  cj will benefit with better numbers. Think of how he and Hardy fed off of each other.

That being said,  worse case scenario he plays pretty good and trains his replacement. While Ron appears to favor vets, gman doesn't give a flying fug.
