JaWalrus Russell's open letter to Jerry Jones

One. Russell is not broke. An older gentleman that I worked with is from Mobile, still lives there, and knows the Russell family well. Was around him from the time he was a little boy, up until now.

Two. I hope he does get another shot. Atleast a tryout. I believe in giving people chances, and sometimes it takes some individuals quite a few chances before they get it right. Do I think he's able to come back and start in the league? No. I do think he's good enough to be a second or third string guy.

Honestly, I think it's too late for Russell, but I do hope he atleast gets a tryout. I just believe he's doing this because he doesn't like the way he went out. Wants to right some of his wrongs and change people's perception of him

I wouldn't mind seeing him get a second chance, not here of course, but somewhere else in the league. I'd much rather allow him another shot to prove himself than say giving Johnny Manziel multiple attempts. He seems to be really passionate about trying to get back into the league and I haven't heard of any stories lately of negative behavior from him so he could be worth a shot for some of the teams in the league.

11 hours ago, Jeremy Igo said:

OK so who REALLY wrote that letter.

My sources claims Ryan Leaf allowed him to reuse left overs from his last batch (So far 31 quick thank but no thanks replies, but the Oilers are yet to answer so there is hope)

Man, I don't get the hate. Russell is entitled to his second chance just like Fitzpatrick or Young... or any human who has made a mistake in life. I applaud him for trying to fight his way back and restore some honor to his name. He doesn't have to. JaMarcus could just stay home and enjoy his wealth but he wants to play. He wants a "grand" or "soldier's" death. I say give it to him.

He was lazy as all hell in Oakland. That is the biggest knock against him as a player, and one of the worst stigmas to shake. Tom Cable once gave him a blank DVD and told him it was filled with that week's game plan and to watch it that night. Russell comes in the next day and Cable asks him about the game plan and Russell said everything looked good.

He gained a ton of weight, even while he was still playing, and then he left the league due to his dependency on codeine. A few years ago he tried at another comeback, but when he was awarded the 3 mil from the raiders, he stopped trying again.

That's why he's not really getting another shot. The teams can't trust him. I'll admit he looks like he's in shape these days, but did he ever really have the skills to be a good QB in the first place? If I'm a QB needy team I might kick the tires for the hell of it, but I wouldn't sign him without knowing I owed him nothing in the event I cut him.

    • I think they took him for that.  He projected to fit the role we saw in Tampa and Seattle.  But Bryce doesn’t throw those balls.   Bryce basically throws to the sideline or endzone…..not really ever putting them up and in play between the 20s.
    • Honestly, it wasn't on him last game. There are many other reasons that come before Bryce. Dave Canales is really starting to worry me. I mean there are glaring issues that can't be excused. I said back when the whole Rico/Chubba thing happened. I said right then that you cannot have a coach that handled those 4 or 5 games the way he did. I get it, most thought that he was trying to throw games, which was not wrong thinking because of how bad it was. The decisions right before half. The strict "Chubba gets this drive and Rico gets the next." It's seeming like a lot of our backups are the better talent, so he cant evaluate talent. Not calling a quarterback sneak because of size. Small quarterback have a different type of advantage, just not as good as a large quarterback, but still doable. Then he doesn't even explain why he didn't put Dalton in there (saying it would give away a quarterback sneak is...just stop). I honestly think he forgot about putting in Dalton. There are so many others that I'd have to re-watch the games to remember.  I could make a whole other post on that defensive game plan...absolutely awful. And a quick petition...see the quote above, can we please ban these weirdos and try to clean this place up. This is peak reddit right here and these losers will destroy the board. I couldn't make it though 3 pages because these morons post more than anyone else. These are the perpetual online freaking weirdos banned from getting too close to schools reddit mod types. Get these losers out of here. You got these freaks posting a ton and not answering the question OP posted ABOUT THE PANTHERS. This is supposed to be about football and this dork constantly tries to attack OP's question. Could you imagine someone in your real life group acting like this? You'd kick his butt out immediately. And you have this reddit loser trying to stop people for posting about the Panthers. Any normal person would just skip the post, but you have to remember these morons base their whole personality on their online persona. They would be banned almost everywhere else. Send him back to reddit, they will be a cancer to this place, trust me. I guarantee you he has more comments than 95% of accounts. These guys are the lowest in society so they live online. Its everything to them. You dont want that. Just read his responses. Do background check on that guy, there are younger people on this too and he probably isn't allowed to be talking to them, or be on here at all.
    • Neither of them are getting in. Cam had HOF potential but was squandered by Ron, Shula, and Gettlemen.
