About those corners...

An assessment needing saying.  I've always found it kind of comical how the 'talking heads' of all the networks draft boards arrange value.  The absolute bottom line is what Jeremy points out, it's all about the system.  Unfortunately you don't have but a handful of choices come draft time.  You take what fits the system.  You pick from what is left during your time.  I would like to have seen different positions addressed but also know the corner was a need.  I have more trust in Gettlman than any GM I have knowledge of.  Very good write up, Jeremy.

Now, about that coffee.  I love coffee.  At my age, the amount of coffee I have tasted around the world could float a battleship.  Nothing tastes better, to me, than a European scoop (heaping tablespoon) of 'Eight O Clock'.

I liked the picks ,DG basically said he didn't want a revolving door in the secondary anymore(press conf.)! Based on the draft strategy we should see it apply to the OL next year,I don't want to hear all the good lineman are gone it's s reach a now, just find the system player.

    • Yes Teddy made mistakes on the field.  All QB's do.   And we wasn't electric like Cam.  Who is?   It was his first full season back from injury and he was following Cam Newton.    The Saints didn't see Teddy as a Brees successor.   They had no problem trading him to a division rival.  So I'm sure we knew that Teddy didn't have it, and it was just a short term bridge between Cam and whoever, while we rebuild.   Teddy did screw up throwing shade on the coaches in the season. Pros keep team critiques internal.  That and middling play, did him in with the Panthers.   Sam had WAY more reason to dis his coaches and management and yet never did.  At least that's what's reported now.  I just think the Huddle is a little harsh on his play here.  I know he's for another team and I'm not a fan.  But some of our shade isn't justified.
    • Unless some team official says something, you have to take it with a grain of salt. For example, Person also said that we were intrigued with Fields. I guess, not enough to draft him. We pushed enough chips in on Darnold to lose the "intrigue", if there ever was any. I mean, it's not like Fields was an unknown quantity, so why would we be "intrigued" with him? There was enough tape on him to dispell any notion of intrigue. I think Person was either full of it or just a pawn in a game of smoke and mirrors.  As for Jones, I never believed the 49ers were enthralled with him, and they were reportedly not going to draft Lance either.l, but then they did.
    • IMO, it is going to take some kind of trade to get someone that can knock PJ out. Rhule loves him. He won't be replaced by some teams castoff. A QB good enough to overtake PJ is just not going to get cut.   In regards to PJ. We have what we have.   Now Grier?  He's just lucky to still be drawing a check.
