Drafting a franchise QB will ALWAYS be the best pick in a franchise's history than any skill position regardless of who it is.

Cam is not only a franchise QB, he's a record setting, one of a kind, future HOF carry his team to the Super Bowl QB. Need a halfback? Got Cam. Need a fullback? Got Cam. Lack a star receiver? Got Cam. Need TD's? Cam got 45. Need a team leader? Got Cam.

What other player, drafted or not, has been responsible for so many Panther wins, ever, with so many more to come?

OP said historical for all you Cam "minitemen"

Just like you don't get inducted into the HOF until after your career is over.

Like I also said children, in 5 years (when Cam will probably be near the end of his career), he will then count as "historical" for me.

Keek is the absolute best at his position, but I won't consider him historical either until he is done here.

How about not even having a 1st round pick in 2009 & 2010...yeah that sucked balls.

I have to disagree with the article in saying Biakabututa was bad. He was serviceable with what we had at the time and wasn't horrible. I remember a lot of his jerseys in the stands. He even made a few big plays and that's a far cry from anything Jarrett ever did.

Anderson was the worst.

Stirs I agree with you on a lot of your posts but I have to disagree with this one.

Mind you , I'm a super Smitty fan and not a Cam nut hugger.

Last night on XM radios Late Hits they were discussing who is the the number one player in the NFL and why. I dial in and get through and they put me on hold..  During this time I'm thinking ...what reasons can I give for Cam? I do a quick Wiki search, scroll down to "NFL records and accomplishments "

I know we all know this but I recommend people to take a second look. Cam has been setting records from the first game he played and is continuing to set records every year after. If you actually look at the stats, his resume is a who's who of NFL all time QB's. As a matter of fact I think he is quite underated in some sense.

I get your point on Smitty value (again huge 89 fan) but even at the number 1 overall, Cam has done  many things no one else has ever done.

cam is a historically significant player already

sorry he panned out and you're still struggling with that

e: you really think he'll be near the end of his career at 32?

I like the Cam selection, but appreciate arguments for Smitty and even Peppers.  Smitty because he was a third rounder and Peppers because there was serious pressure to take a QB and we went defense instead.  I think my all time top 10 selections would be something like this:

My worst 10 is just depressing:

You move the goal posts whenever the conversation of Cam comes up. 2012 you and MHS were talking about moving on from Cam (in his second year for christs sake) Last year you were poo posting about starting Anderson and how Anderson is a better fit for our offense. The following year cam is THE MOST VALUABLE player in the ENTIRE NFL.

Lol stirs. Look past him being an extrovert on the field at a position where you think players should act a certain way. It clouds your judgement. You just don't like Cam personally and everyone can see it. Dude is shattering the record books held by some of the best players in league history in only his fifth year. Rejoice brother.
