The dude makes Mike Remmers look like Bruce Mathews.

idk who is at fault there. Looks like Trai decided to let the DT go for Williams to block, but Williams didn't block anyone.

Chandler actually had a solid career considering that he was a UDFA defensive tackle. He was not good at any position on the o-line but honestly was sufficient as a fill in at guard in 2013. There's never been nothing to not like about him. Just wasn't a very talented lineman. Glad to see he's hanging them up with his brain intact.

Seeing Byron Bell and Nate Chandler on the same line protecting our franchise QB was one of the worst experiences as a Panther fan. Every snap I literally held my breath and closed my eyes.

It was bad. Some of us held out hope in the offseason just because we're fans and hope for the best. I remember posting about Nate's athleticism and frame being similar to Gross but that line will go down as one of the worst ever in NFL history. Add in the fact Cam was still recovering from ankle surgery and it was a complete disaster.

Edit: also I remember some posters screaming at Cam and posting things like "should we move on from Cam" during that time. Lol

"Cam can't read a defense. If he could, he would have got the ball out quicker".

"Cam needs to work on his anticipiation".

These are few of many ridiculous comments made about Cam throughout that season. My favorite one was "we should start Derek Anderson" LMFAO I was fuggin infuriated. Dude literally could not even have a simple drop back without someone already at his heels or in his face, and then people tried to justify that Cam wasn't that good because of how many sacks and hits he was taking, not even acknowledging that he literally had 2 seconds to get that ball out lol

There was a game two seasons ago against the Falcons. I just thought to myself if we start this game strong maybe we can win and build something... The Falcons DT walked right up the center unblocked and belly flopped on Cam and I just started drinking. I drank so many.

I have a lot of stories that end like that

It looks to me like Deangelo is looking to block Bierman on the edge but Chandler goes for Bierman and Deangelo can't get back inside for the DT. I mean that would be the more logical blocking assignment... let Deangelo chip the smaller Bierman and Chandler go for the DT.

It was Trai Turner. Bell and Chandler did their job on that play. DeAngelo had the blitzing LB, but he set up in the B gap. Since Turner let the DL straight up the A gap, the LB followed through the A gap leaving Williams out of position. That was 100% on Trai.

The Chandler/Bell experiment was a huge failure. Should have gotten OTs in the off season or draft. The Panthers even gave Chandler a contract extension. No idea what they were thinking. Everyone who did not rely on hope knew that was going to end badly.

Maybe Gettleman was hoping Cam would struggle and fail in 2014 so he could replace him with his QB of choice. We all know Gettleman would never have drafted Cam back in 2011 with the 1st pick in the draft.

    • We don't have to tear down Dak to appreciate what Bryce did yesterday. Dak had 0 running game. If the cowboys were better, he'd be a legit MVP candidate if he keeps playing this way.  They did it with Ceedee last year, but they do a better job of anybody we play consistently of getting their best receiver off Jaycee.  Bryce was good too. If we just catch the ball that was intercepted, we probably win by 7+, and Bryce goes over 200 yards passing.  Biggest shift the last few weeks has been play calling. I thought Canales abandoned the run game way to early at times last year. This year he really seems to be sticking with it.  I still think Chuba is better at making 4 yards when there's nothing there, but Rico is better at making 30 yards when there's 6 there. I like the direction. Hopefully we can get Moton, Sanders and Coker back and really be dangerous. Our play action game is pretty deadly right now.  Unrelated: My favorite quality about Bryce right now is his ability to see the defensive hold and throw the ball there. He EXPOSES the officials when they don't call it. That one on Tetaroia yesterday late in the game was a bad miss on their part.
    • That sacks allowed number lookin juicy!
    • This is a game the Panthers should win... just the sort of game they lose. The Panthers have a bad habit that goes back years of playing down to the competition's level only to mess around and lose the game. The Jets game should be taken very seriously! But I want to enjoy the fact that they beat the Cowboys for at least another day or so!
