I thought that was pretty weird too.  You would think he'd be checking in on him asap, especially being his best player.

I don't think it's a good idea for a head coach to be checking in on someone in protocol. Players like Oher and Kuechly especially might be pressured to get back out there prematurely.

If he has a concussion, I think Kuechly should consider retiring.

Late last night while I was watching the game, I fell asleep, so I didn't see the injury when it happened.  So when I woke up, I was disturbed to see two things.  One, on a lighter note, the Saints almost came back and beat us.  Two and most importantly, I woke to Sportscenter talking about a possible concussion for Kuechly.  I was thinking 'Man, what happened?'.  That's when they showed the replay and I was surprised to see the hit looked like a regular/everyday football collision.  His head wasn't even contacted.  The only thing I could compare this to in being injured on routine type plays is Romo, who injured his shoulder after a routine sack from Thomas Davis last year, or Romo being injured in the preseason against Seattle.  Yet this isn't a back or shoulder we're talking about here, this is Kuechly's brain.  If he gets concussions from plays like the one last night, knowing the tough player he is in general I believe he should retire, as hard as that would be for him.
