Good Thread, man.  Your sample size is too small; you have to carry those stats out over a career...

Calvin Johnson - 6'5" 237 lbs  11,619 yds 83 TDs

Ryne Robinson - 5'9" 179 lbs  35 yds 0 TDs

Armanti Edwards - 5'11" 182 lbs 131 yds 0 TDs

Y'all know me, I go out of my way to be flexible and democratic.

The original post, as well as the insinuation, is 100 percent bad. In my opinion, it is one of the worst I've seen in a while, and for those that are trying to jump on the bandwagon to use it as a vehicle for dogging out Funchess, you should be ashamed.

Since he's been here the 2 highest drafted receivers had height and not much speed but other than that he brought in Ginn, Byrd, Hill, Brown. All speed or quickness guys.

3 years ago everyone wanted giants and applauded acquiring 2 giants.

I didn't. I never liked the Funchess pick. I always felt we needed to pair KB with speed, not more size. Ginn, Hill, Brown, and Byrd barely count. Two former busts and two UDFAs. They were all scrap heap players. Fortunately, Ginn has been a good player for us and Brown has had a few moments. But, we can hardly count those guys as serious investments. They were virtual afterthoughts.

And our offense was first in the league last year with those non serious investments and virtual afterthoughts. It's obvious we don't need big names at the WR position..  We just need to give Cam time to find people open

Speed killls in sports. We don't have much team speed on offense, hence our offense is  garbage.

The speed on offense is fine. Could be better, but it is not the issue.

The issue is having a stable of WRs that have lesser odds than a roulette table in Vegas. Trusting KB, Ginn, Funchess, and Brown with 100% of your season pass attempts to WRs in every critical situation is like flying a plane with faulty engines and hoping you can bring it down safely in a major storm.

When Brenton Bersin has the best hands of any WR on the team and he only sees 1 target all season, then you have issues with the way the front office has built the team.

Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers would go ballistic on their WR corps if they had KB, Ginn, Funchess and Brown. They would likely demand at least 1 WR with reliable hands.

The Panthers need at least 1 WR with great hands that will be on the field in every critical passing down. The Panthers need 2 OTs who can pass block well for at least 3 seconds on their own without sitting in the lap of Newton when they finally lose control of their defender. The Panthers need a back up RB with good hands who can present a passing threat on 3 down and reliably threaten a defense between the tackles on 1st and 2nd down to change up/spell Stewart.

That is all the Panthers need on offense, and they have had the opportunities to get all of that the past 3 off seasons. Hopefully, they do not miss big again this off season. The Panthers could easily trade down in the draft and address the RB, WR, and OT.early.

Brown catches everything, and still gets crapped on about his hands....

Not sure what games you have been watching.

Brown has yet to have a game where he is targeted 3 or more times and catches 100%. Not one. Ted Ginn has managed a 100% game with his hands.

He has been targeted 3 or more times in 26 games. He has only caught better than 60% in 8 of those games. That is a 30% success rate when he factors into the game plan. So, you are lucky if he performs well in 1 out of every 3 games he is used in the game plan.

He has managed to rack up a game where he has been targeted at least 3 times and has not caught a single pass. That happened this season against New Orleans. KB and Funchess have not been able to pull off this rare feat.

Brenton Bersin has been able to catch 100% of his passes in a game. In fact, Bersin is above 60% catching in 75% of the games he is targeted 3 or more times. Bersin has caught 71% of his targets in games where he has been targeted at least 2 times.

Brown catches everything?

Now, you can say Bersin catches everything, but not Brown.

Brown hasn't dropped any passes....  that means he has caught everything that could possibly be caught... aka: Brown catches everything, and still gets crapped on about his hands...

Also, quit making poo up...

Cam had a lot of designed runs last year and that hide a number of not good things
