Well then the story would be Cam retires because he's afraid to get hit. It will take a whole new spin. But another thing, I doubt Cam is gonna give in to that pressure because that's giving the powers that be the glory in saying "we won." Not gonna happen. The only person it'll be a PR nightmare for is Cam.

He's active and taking these shots and the conversation about concussions and serious injuries are very hot weekly and it hasn't made them uncomfortable. They haven't at least tried to make a change so I doubt the discussion would bother them should he say "I'm retiring"....I just do not think they would care much.

I've noticed for a while that that steroid user hasn't officiated any of the Panthers games since Cam called him out. This only proves that the league knows Cam was telling the truth about what Hochuli said to him and now they want payback. The NFL is full of sh*t.

Per ESPN stats:  Referee Jerome Boger and his crew call an average of 20.8 penalties per game, according to ESPN. That’s the highest average of any officiating crew in the NFL.

They call the most ticky tack fouls and miss the blatantly obvious ones.

And what would everyone be saying if Hochuli was allowed to officiate our games.  One iffy call and the NFL has more bullets coming their way from angry fans, pundits, etc.  There's two options: let him ref Panthers games or not.  Either way, everyone will find a reason to bitch.

The players union likely sees that officiating socks across the board and not just regarding Newton.

They would just have ESPN, NFL Network and all the over media in their pocket spin it that Cam was selfish and thinks he is bigger than the game etc etc, the same bullshit that comes out anytime Cam dares complain about anything. Hell a ref could taser Cam on live TV and flag him for delay of game while he writes in agony and Trent Dilfer/Matt Hassleback would find a way to point out how it really wasn't Cam who was wronged and it was actually his own fault.

It's beyond sad how far the NFL has fallen off. Goodell is actually destroying the league. The NBA is already becoming the country's biggest professional sport. If something doesn't change I wouldn't be surprised to see MLB and MLS become bigger in 5-10 years.

Yeah the only solution to all of the officiating, hits to the head, etc.? Probably going to need to win the SB. Do that, and the media/officials give you the Brady/Brees/Manning treatment. Sad that it's going to take that, but IMO it's what Cam will have to do to finally get the respect deserved by a lot of the old football guys.
