He'd assumedly be able to get rid of the ball quicker since MW doesn't need much separation (and thus time). But yes, I assume the FO will target reinforcements at OL as well.

Theoretically it's possible yes.  But is the risk worth it?  That's a hell of a gamble to take based on past events.  In terms of impact wr is not a priority, unless it's for the next Jerry Rice I say pass.

Would allow us to move out of max protect, but we would need to switch to a more pass oriented team if that occurs

Other players would make bigger upgrades at their respective position more so than Williams would at WR, but he would be an upgrade and in the long run probably be a very satisfactory pick.

If we are going to draft a receiver, we need someone who can create space. In all 9 games I went to last season, I very rarely saw receivers getting the space to create yards after the catch.

I honestly don't know if Mike Williams is that type of receiver. But if he is, it wouldn't be a waste to select him at #8. Dude can ball out.
