If we pick up Cruz and maybe a speed guy like Stills I think our WR group would be terrific.

Stills alone is a helluva pickup.

But that is a lot of bodies.

I would love to go:

Wr1 Stills
Wr2 KB
Wr3 Ace/brown/funchess

Dunno if we need another guy who can't separate.

That's why he's not going to be anything BUT a slot receiver.

He has plenty of worth for a team like us with his reliability and skillset as a solid route runner. From the slot, he doesn't have to be an all-world beater; rather, he just has to be a solid guy who can be a reliable option for Cam on 3rd down.

It's a signing that would make a lot of sense. Not to mention Cruz' optimism concerning us. I think he'd immediately help in the sense we have some reliability and stability for Cam.

As much as i like stills, he wants an 8 figure contract. Already not a Gman player.

If we want to replace our fast player (Ginn) with hands of stone with another fast player with hands of stone, might as well bring in Cordarelle Patterson who will be much cheaper. Patterson and Cruz contracts together would probably be significantly less than what Stills wants.

He still has really good hands, problem is he lost a lot speed, can't break tackles and struggling to separate from man to man

Great find on the videos!  Unfortunately there is nothing in those videos showing him operating from the slot and very little to go by for that since the knee injury because Shepard was the slot guy.  Really a tough judge for fans from the couch. I'll be indifferent whether he gets signed or not.

He's a younger version of Cotchery. The problem I have is that if we get complacent with just signing Cruz and not sign another receiver. Cruz alone isn't gonna fix our WR problem, we need a burner like Jackson or Wright.

Kendall Wright is not a burner, but he can be effective in the slot. That being said, Cruz should really be able to be as effective from the slot.

Here's the scenario:

Benjiman/Funch/Cruz

Olsen/Cam/Stew

Your best DBs are going with Benji/Funch

Your best safety/LB is going with Olsen

Now, do you bail into coverage and follow Cruz?  Or do you stay home watching Cam/Stew?

With any sort of rational play design we should be able to shred Defenses with this.  Biggest problem wouldn't be whether Cruz has lost a step but rather our OC sending him on go routes and smoke screens.

Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start. Bryce Young, in his second season, has led the Carolina Panthers to a 4-0 run since October, accumulating 1,390 yards and 11 touchdowns amid a 4-4 record.   Undefeated QBs since start of October (min. 4 starts)   Drake Maye 5-0 Bo Nix 5-0 Bryce Young 4-0   Bryce Young when asked about his mindset during game winning drives: "You don’t rise to the occasion you fall back to the level of your training."
    • 1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
    • You play the Saints that is great news for your O line.
