What current/former Panther would you bring back?

So I saw this question posted on a Facebook Panther's fan page and thought it would be interesting to see the Huddle's opinion on this. Name a player, current or retired, that you wish would return to the Panthers is his prime.

I have a feeling I know what the answer most people here will give. I personally will go outside the box and say that I would bring back Jordan Gross. Our line would instantly be upgraded and we wouldn't have to worry about relying on Remmers to be able to block for more than half a second anymore (assuming we Re-sign him that is).

Prime Smith. Just being honest.

This will always be the best answer. Cam was good with Old Man smitty, he would have been wrecking fools with prime SS.

I guess prime Julius Peppers would help the D obviously. . I would trade all our 2017 picks for Myles Garrett on the other side of him and we'll have an unstoppable Dline.

to be honest young panther cub.. there has not been one true Panther to stand out as one... Sure we have Mills, Peppers, Smith, Delhome, DeShaaun Foster..if we won the Super Bowl Mushid, Delhomme, foster and the gang would be be there.. Gross has been solid but much talent has been before him...

Honestly that is the answer that I am expecting most to give. I'm just curious to see what other names people might drop in here lol. I have to agree though that Prime Smitty would be kick ass though at the same time that is assuming we can afford Cam the time in the pocket.

Oh yeah, I know tons of talent that I'd love to have back in their prime just Gross was the first to pop into my mind when I thought about our current issues on the OL. Oh and since you mentioned him, Moose would be awesome to have back. Oh yeah and now that I think about it Michael Bates would be nice for our special teams.

I'll answer this based on need and would fit in with our current culture:

John Kasay - Seriously, every time he trotted onto the field, you can bank in those three points.

Brad Hoover - We do need a fullback and besides, I'd love to hear "Hooooooo-verrrrr! one more time.

Mike Rucker - Because Peppers is a sore spot for some.

Chris Harris - Another pickup from the Bears that did pretty well here.

Chris Harris over Mike Minter?

    • Facts it's still crazy that they made him sell over that especially considering what some of the other owners have done.  JR was a rich 80 year old white man from the south I'm not at all surprised about him making some "inappropriate" comments about what a woman is wearing water is wet what a surprise. That's just the way things were done during his time, and he should and did get punished for his actions by paying some hefty fines, but it definitely wasn't something that he should've been forced to sell his team over.  I'll never forget him insulting Peyton Manning during a negotiation, reportedly belittling the quarterback’s knowledge of player safety and asking, “Do I need to help you read a revenue chart, son?
    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
