With the 4th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select...

Leonard Fournette, RB out of LSU.

Image result for leonard fournette

With their man Adams off the board, the Jags pick up a key offensive piece that should help take some pressure off of Bortles. Hard to pass up the best RB prospect since Adrian Peterson.

1. Cleveland - Myles Garrett DE

2. 49ers - Mitch Trubisky QB

3. Bears - Jamal Adams- Safety

4. Jaguars- Leonard Fournette RB

Nice pic...but I'll be pissed if this happens

WITH THE 6TH OVERALL PICK IN THE 2017 NFL DRAFT, THE NEW YORK JETS SELECT:

collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com_files_2

The New York Jets were abysmal on offense last year, and a lot of that stemmed from their atrocious quarterback play.  Jets fans were getting impatient, as they've been without a franchise quarterback for far too long.  Jets head coach Todd Bowles and General Manager Mike Maccagnan have both became very high on Mahomes in the weeks leading up to the draft, and rumor is coming into tonight he was their favorite QB in the draft.  Mahomes swagger will bring an entirely new dimension that the Jets have sorely been lacking on offense, and he has a fearless ability that allows him to make plays both inside out and outside of the pocket.  Similar to what the Cardinals have done with Carson Palmer, look for the Jets to try to surround Mahomes with an assortment of young new weapons with their next few picks.  At only 21, he improved considerably every year in Lubbock and there is no reason to believe he's anywhere close to his ceiling.

LET'S CHECK IN WITH ESPN INSIDER ADAM SCHEFTER FOR MORE......

Schefter.jpg

"One thing is for sure, the New York Jets were going to leave tonight with their quarterback for the future.  Numerous sources throughout the league informed me that the Jets and Patriots became somewhat close on a deal that would have sent Jimmy Garoppolo to the Big Apple, but the Patriots' asking price remained too high.  Option B for the Jets was Pat Mahomes, who they have became astronomically high on since the combine.  Jets fans have been pleading for a quarterback, and their front office answered the call tonight."

Updated List:

  1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE
  2. San Francisco 49ers: Mitch Trubisky, QB
  3. Chicago Bears: Jamal Adams, S
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette, RB
  5. Tennessee Titans: Marshon Lattimore, CB
  6. New York Jets: Patrick Mahomes, QB

MORE DETAILS HAVE SURFACED FROM ESPN INSIDER ADAM SCHEFTER'S EARLIER REPORT......

"According to multiple sources, the Pats still remain open to trading Jimmy G. But they are not willing to throw in the 32nd pick just to move up in the 1st round. Looks like the Jets saw Belicheck smiling and joking around at the combine and figured he was in a good enough mood to give out charity. Bill is seeking a 1st rounder or established WR."

With the 7th Pick in The 2017 NFL draft  The Chargers select

9601670-ncaa-football-indiana-ohio-state

Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State

The comparisons to Ed Reed aren’t far off with Hooker, who has a rare combination of athleticism, range and ball skills. He’s still fairly raw and needs to improve as a tackler, but he’s an elite playmaker in coverage. Recent surgeries may be cause for concern, but it shouldn’t drop him out of the top 10.

This pick will shore up a position of need and help them when facing Derek Carr and the raiders.

Updated List:

  1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE
  2. San Francisco 49ers: Mitch Trubisky, QB
  3. Chicago Bears: Jamal Adams, S
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette, RB
  5. Tennessee Titans: Marshon Lattimore, CB
  6. New York Jets: Patrick Mahomes, QB
  7. LA Chargers: Malik Hooker, FS

Barnett.jpeg

Derek Barnett DE Tennessee

Derek Barnett gives the Panthers a great pass rusher and turns a weakness into a strength. The Panthers will likely take a good look at Solomon Thomas but come to the conclusion that Thomas is not on the same level as Barnett when it comes to pass rushing. Plus Thomas may struggle against bigger OTs in the NFL. Barnett gives the Panthers a potential star at DE and the best pass rush they have had at DE since Greg "Drug Lord" Hardy. Hopefully he is a way better person off the field than Hardy. Any dude who breaks a sack record held by Reggie White is a beast, plain and simple. Plus he is not a DT or LB soooooooooooo.

Stats in 2016:

56 tackles

19 tackles for a loss

13 sacks

2 forced fumbles

5 passes broken up

1 interception

Highlights:

@Hammerin'Cameron1 you are on the clock for the Cincinnati Bengals

With the 10th pick of the 2017 NFL draft the Buffalo Bills select:

hi-res-5fa7f8a16d7e6f2086e5dac68ad80326_

Deshaun Watson QB - Clemson Tigers

With the Bills not being able to trade down they decide to end the turnstile at QB with Watson.  An instant upgrade at the position.  Watson has shown he can be accurate and can make time with his athleticism if needed.  The combine did nothing but increase why he should be the first QB off the board.  Watson was only QB in the draft to show consistent velocity and accuracy during drills with unknown receivers.

@Salisburysean98

You are on the clock with the New Orleans Saints.

With the 11th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft... The New Orleans Saints select...

Jonathan Allen, Defensive End Alabama

The Saints continue to add pieces that can contribute to improving their defense, as it needs a lot of help.  It just got a whole lot scarier with Allen joining Cam Jordan, Sheldon Rankins, Nick Fairly and Paul wrecking Crew Kruger on the D line. Could have went linebacker here but decided to take the best available player in my eyes in Allen, now they have an abundance of talent along the D line. Kruger will need to cut some lbs in training camp and play somewhere in between a LB and De now that the Saints have Allen. If outstanding pass rusher Kikaha gets hurt again then Kruger can always kick out to OLB in a injury crisis.

Allen has totaled 10+ sacks in the last two seasons with Bama with 14.5 and 16 tackles for loss respectively. Forced 2 fumbles in 2015

Updated list

  1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE
  2. San Francisco 49ers: Mitch Trubisky, QB
  3. Chicago Bears: Jamal Adams, S
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette, RB

  8. Carolina Panthers: Derek Barnett, DE
  9. Cincinnati Bengals: Garrett Bolles, OT
  10. Buffalo Bills: Deshaun Watson, QB
  11. New Orleans Saints Jonathan Allen DE

With the 12th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft... the Cleveland Browns select:

DeShone Kizer - QB - Notre Dame

kizer.jpg

The Browns get their big, mobile quarterback.  And hey, he's from Cleveland, so maybe he's the guy to get the Browns over the hump!  With comparisons to Steve McNair, Kizer has a lot to live up to.  Despite a less than stellar combine performance, the Browns and Kevin Costner are confident that Deshone will come into camp and win the starting job.

With the thirteenth pick in the two-thousand and seventeen NFL draft...the Arizona Cardinals select.....

OJ Howard, TE, Alabama

ojhowardtitlegame.jpg

With everyone thinking the Cardinals might pick a WR to restock the WR group or QB to groom to be Palmer's replacement, the Cardinals pick the pass catcher with the highest ceiling in OJ Howard.  The Cardinals are going to have to start over at QB sooner rather than later and everyone knows a great TE can be a young QB's best friend.

The Philadelphia Eagles are on the clock.  @Verge

    • He’s overthrown WRs numerous times deep,I don’t think his arm strength there is a problem, def seems to be and issue in the 20-30 yard range, I don’t see a lot of outbreaking routes being completed, whether that’s due to his lack of ability to drive the ball to the outside hash or our WRs, especially XL cornering at the top of there routes. regardless of his weaknesses, the question is can a team be built around him to mask them, or can he overcome those weaknesses and adapt. I know it’s beating a dead horse, but something big is missing from Bryce’s qb play that’s leading to so many sub 200 yard passing games, all signs lead to a physical trait that’s the cause of this, wether it’s arm strength or his height
    • That was fully intentional, because something people who engage in hyperbole can't stand is to be systematically told why and how they don't have a clue. It's the prevalence of this farcical idea that everyone's opinions are valid and the more impassioned they are about them, the more valid they are. And the point of the post wasn't merely to cut the knees of the exaggerators, but to illustrate why it shouldn't seem miraculous that someone like Mayfield and Darnold could come through Charlotte and fail and then suddenly seem much more successful elsewhere, when the reality is that there's far more to being successful at that position than one's own talent. It's also why young quarterbacks like Caleb Williams and Cam Ward deserve much longer leashes to determine their long-term viability and not be written off immediately, because the circumstances surrounding them are hardly conducive to success.
    • I think at some point you top out what God gave you.  He can use leverage via his mechanics to maximize what he has and When he pays attention to it the throws are better.    IMO as a layman a lot of it is what kind of ‘headroom’ you have. The guys who are gifted don’t have to use maximum effort to get good results and stay within themselves but they have it in reserve. They can do an arm throw for substantial distance without max effort.    I think what we may be seeing with these ‘lasers’ is a throw that Bryce puts the max effort into and does his mechanics right and has his base right and it works together.    To get to the payoff here, I think his best velocity throws take dall that whereas  a naturally gifted guy doesn’t need to go full effort to get that same velocity. I have said this three or four times over the years and it never gets picked up on but the accuracy is more consistent with an easier motion and max effort can produce less predictable location. It is a baseball pitcher thing but it applies to throwing a pass too. It isn’t that you can’t make an accurate throw with full effort it is just not as reliably accurate to the same degree. Someone said something about his pro day and that is where I saw it too. He took a little extra step on the deep throws. Some call it a hitch but I don’t see it that way because I don’t see it on shorter throws. He does it trying to get distance. I saw that and just wanted no part of it at 1.1 . That is not tne characteristic of a 1.1 passer.  He should have been at best, late first  I had him second day. Of course I am no one and certainly not a pro evaluator, it is just that he was so easy to suss out. It is kind of in your face obvious.  They must have thought they could fix him. Changing a lifelong throwing motion with the footwork tied into it is not fuging easy. Anyone that had decent success with ‘their’ way and tried to change it to get more, can tell you that.
