Just talked to Philly brown...

He had heart. I liked him. When he scored the punt return after getting drilled people here actually knocked him saying it wasn't a real punt return for TD. But I think it showed something about his character and toughness. He's since shown some of that and was one of the few players worth a damn in the super bowl. I know he wasn't great, but i'll miss him and good luck to him.

Nothing but love for Philly. He picked us after the draft when there were hordes of teams after him, as he was one of the more surprising guys to go unselected. Garrett did the same thing for us. I always like to see those guys have success and I hope he goes on to do big things for the Lions. Their down field passing game should make him a good fit if he decides to go there. He may be somewhat expendable to us since we're trying to upgrade at the position, but he'll pass for a 3rd or 4th WR anywhere in the league. He caught a lot of what went his way or was at least competitive on it.

"for us"?

You act like these guys are choosing Carolina to do the organization a favor. These guys Garrett and Brown do it because of opportunity. When you're a UDFA and have your pick from a handful of teams you're going to look at each teams roster at the WR position.

It's no surprise that guys like Philly and Keyarris come to Carolina, look at our WR depth chart, I'd jump at the chance to come here too.

Good for him.  Hope he does well there.

I liked Philly.  Was just a solid #3 WR.  Not the fastest freak athlete.  But developed into a solid route runner and pass catcher.   He played with more heart in the Super Bowl for us then the rest of the offense combined.

People forget about 2015 because the poor year coming off injury this season.  But he was our most consistent WR in 2015.  And had one of the better playoffs of our offensive weapons.  Remember how hyped I was on that long TD vs Arizona

    • Got to give some credit to the coaching staff on these. You can grab top talents but without good coaching, they just fizzle out. We've seen that a lot around here.
    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
