i can't figure out why we wouldn't sign him

I was gonna say what that other guy did...

I wonder if the coaches didn't like his personality or had some reserves in that area in general. I don't know the exact process but I imagine they talk with or meet with or otherwise try to get to know FAs in some way or another before offering a deal.

Could be wrong...I'm not sure...in some cases I'm sure they definitely do and in others maybe not.

I feel like what happened to my mail package is what happened to Cordarelle.

I sent a package out for local delivery here in Los Angeles and the damn USPS sent it to Charlotte for absolutely no reason.

He may be just too stupid to be a Panther to be frank. Route concepts obviously befuddle him. Adam Thielen outplayed him.

I was a big proponent of us drafting him in the first round if Star didn't fall to us. Thankfully Star did. By all accounts Patterson is a dumbass and I don't mean that to insult his intelligence he just literally doesn't care about his craft. Just wants to get by on his freak speed and athleticism. Is not coachable. I honestly wouldn't care if we signed him just for PR/KR duties because he is freakish. But as a WR? I dunno.

He's a terrible receiver and from many accounts a bit of a dipshit.

Great returner and big play threat though.

I could see the character issues being a concern from our organization, but as far as player, he is pretty much exactly who and what Ginn was before coming here the first time.

I think he's more "explosive", and by that I mean he's a bigger threat with the ball in his hands, not just a threat to run down a deep pass, but he's a terrible terrible route runner, something Ginn was actually decent at.

    • in starts, he has played better, been more efficient and outproduced Bryce by virtually every statistical metric that exists in 2025.  And has the 2 head to heads over Carolina.  I mean, your jaw should hit the floor.  But not for the reason you are implying.  That freaking stings.  Denying these realities isn't going to help the Panthers build a better team going forward.
    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
