Panthers have heavy interest in Notre Dame DT Isaac Rochell

 A day after the Notre Dame Pro Day workout, former Irish defensive lineman Isaac Rochell paid a visit to PFT Live to discuss his pre-draft experiences.

As to the issue that always slides to the top of the stack in the weeks before the selection process, Rochell said he has attracted the most interest so far from the Cowboys and Panthers.

Maybe a guy groomed to take Horton's role. Run-stopping DE while working on his pass rush moves. 

Kid was a former 4 star recruit and a team captain at Notre Dame. Projected to go anywhere from the 5th-7th round, you could honestly do a lot worse than Rochell.

Lunch-pail player from a blue-collar background whose effort and motor will make him a favorite of coaches he plays for. What Rochell offers in effort, he lacks as a skilled pass rusher, and his inability to get after the quarterback will create a difficult challenge for him. While his best fit might be a 3-4 defensive end, he could be viewed as rotational defensive lineman with little to no third-down value. Rochell has third-day draft value with eventual starter potential if he can sharpen his pass-rush tools.

Not much of a pass rusher but he's really good at gap control and can take on doubles real well. My wife's family are ND fans I've watched a lot of games haha
