PFF:3 draft needs for the Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers are one of the rare examples of a team selecting in the top 10 in the NFL draft without having a ton of needs. That does not mean that they have elite or above-average players at every position, but the team’s core is extremely young and general manager Dave Gettleman will probably give these inexperienced players some more time to develop before thinking about replacing them. The Panthers have already had a good offseason so far as they were able to bring in some veterans for positions where they looked thin, including edge defender, safety and cornerback.

Here’s a look at the areas the Panthers can most improve come draft day.

Yeah, they seem level headed until you look at their 3-round mock draft they put together six days ago.  They have us taking Barnett at #8 with Adams, Thomas, and Fournette all still on the board.  I knew cocaine was a helluva drug, but seriously, PFF needs to go into rehab.

Not a coincidence that all those needs are on offense. Defense comes first in this organization, and the offense is always going to lag behind and hope for players to step up and play beyond expectations.

Who knows how we view Barnett? I love the kid and think he could be better than Hardy was on the field for us without the off field retartedness. I highly doubt he's above any of those 3 on our board but it's not impossible. I could see everything around us being a smokescreen with Barnett the number one target at 8. And honestly wouldn't have any problem with that. Ideally though we grab Fournette or Adams and trade back into the first to grab Barnett as he seems more like a mid to late first than top 10.

This is one of the few media outlets who said we had a solid offseason, which we did. All I see is "such a bad contract for a horrible Kalil". Good stuff thanks for sharing.

I don't know at that point I'd pick this guy (not at 8, so probably not at all) but man I'd love to pair that kind of talent with the interior linemen that we have and just bully people.

Obvoiously, in this scenario, Adams, Thomas, and Fournette were all in a major car crash on their way to the draft. That's the only way all 3 are still on the board at 8.

Both UNC Rbs are going to be steals this year: Hood and Logan would love to have either in a late round.
