Double Dip

So this may be a stupid question for some people and thats okay. i understand. But im still curious for thoughts...

was fooling with Fanspeak this morning and using the composite big board and user-voted needs, i had the unthinkable happen and watched McCaffrey slip to #40 after i had taken Leonard Fournette. What are the chances that we would take 2 running backs this draft?

yes i realize that the chances are slim to none that it would even work out that we could take Fournette AND McCaffrey. But what about McCaffery and Perine? or another combination that would solidify our stable for years to come? ya'll think Nippleshorts would pull the trigger on two RB's?

I could see it with Fournette & McCaffrey for sure.

Absolutely. If McCaffrey makes it to 40 I'd love to get him after getting Fournette in the first. Gettleman double or triple dips almost every year. I wouldn't be surprised to see it at RB this year. More realistically I'm thinking Fournette then TJ Logan in the mid to late rounds.

I can't see a double dip at RB in terms of #8 and #40. Just can't see that happening. Now, I could potentially see a double dip in terms of #8 and a later round pick. It seems pretty clear that CAP isn't part of our future plans and Fozzy only has a two year contract with only $500k guaranteed. There's no guaranteed money next season.

So, if we took Fournette at #8, I could definitely see competition being brought in for Fozzy in a later round. Maybe TJ Logan? And if we took McCaffrey at #8 or in a trade down scenario, I could definitely see a more power oriented RB being brought in to compete with CAP. Maybe Perine if we wanted to pull the trigger in the 3rd which is earlier than I would think we would make that move or maybe Elijah Hood if a later round which I think is probably more likely. Yeah, I'm UNC homering a little bit here, but I think both of those guys would fit the bill in theses situations both in terms of skill set and draft projection.

Getty has done it before and will do it again. If C-Mac is there at 40, I could easily see him pulling the trigger because it's all about value.

I just think that C-Mac is like the quintessential Patriot, so I'll be surprised if he gets past them, regardless if they have four RBs on their roster or not.

In the 0.000001% chance that McCaffrey slipped to 40, I think there would be a near certainty that it could happen.

In that case, if I was Gettleman, I'd have the slip with CM's name on it up there faster than they did with Star's.

We would take McC at 40 even with Fournette at 8 but I wouldn't really call it a double dip since we'd use McC more as a receiver than a runner in that situation. Consider him at slot receiver if we got him at 40 after Fournette.

I think OP wrote all of that just to slip nippleshorts into his post. Hahaha

Also, yes. I have been posting this idea for a week now. I think that if DG sees LF at 8 he takes him no questions asked. And if CMc is somehow sitting there at 40, or even late 20s early 30s, he makes a move and gets him. I think he would love that.
