Early thoughts on the WR corps...

I don't want an upgraded Philly Brown, if we're setting Shepard up as a slot receiver (#3), then I'd rather see us keep Byrd in that 5th spot. Three year deal or not on Shepard it can't be anything that would be detrimental if he were cut.

So for me if we keep five receivers I'd rather see:

KB / Funch / Samuel / Johnson / Byrd

However I think we carry six receivers, and Shepard is the 6th guy. To me Byrd, and Johnson have more upside and big play ability. Shepard is just another possession guy to me with better size than Philly.

Russell Shepard has a ton of potential as a wideout. I already went over that a while ago in here:

Even so, he's a guaranteed lock with his amazing ST play. He's a ST ace (like an actual really good ace) and a team captain in that area. Brings a bunch of mojo to the team that they need.

    • As the demand for apartments grows parking is becoming limited and it’s sad. I use to tailgate but I just park at uncc deck now and train in and head to rhino market. My tailgate grill hates me.
    • It simply depends on perspective. CMC, when healthy and on the field, has a higher YPC and YPR than LT. Yes, he's been injury prone, but this is simply a "all quarter-century team." There are certainly different stats and different lists. If this were a list or about a team simply based on longevity, then of course LT wins that every time, but some lists are more subjective and nuanced depending upon what they are, and it's not necessarily a reflection upon a person's ability to analyze sports.
    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
