McCaffrey, Moton, and Armah sign their contracts

Man, I can't think of a single year where I was this excited about every pick and even 2 UDFAs

Last year we had a weird post-draft haze where people were trying to group talk into liking the class.  Year prior, was pretty similar.

edit: to add, it may even go all the way back to DeAngelo's class but that group as a whole was meh.

I just feel pretty darn confident about these guys.  Maybe it's because I bandwagoned Hall and Samuel hard...but man, let's see--Christian should be great, Moton seems at the least a solid swing lineman, Armah is a FB in a LB's body and in a different mold which is just cool, and Elder will definitely make the team.  Why not take a new shot at kicker in Butker, Boulware is obviously a crazy guy to follow, and Fred Ross is a great sleeper story.

We got a lot of talent folks.

The whole issue with the chargers was they were being cheap and didn't want to pay a bonus

Nope, the issue wasn't paying a bonus nor was it the amount of the bonus.

The issue was how and when the bonus would be paid.

lol dumb old white people will love this

Indeed.

Us "dumb old white people" (as you so racistly put it) are big believers that employees shouldn't work a single minute without being paid by the company for which they are employed.

"The speed of the negotiations reconfirms that every team should be signing every player before that player reports for offseason workouts. Chances are McCaffrey, who skipped Stanford’s bowl game and declined to participate in private workouts, made it clear to the Panthers that he wouldn’t be working without a contract for employment."

I'm a strong believer that more players should take this kind of position.  I guess that makes me "dumb" and "white" according to you.

It's nice when your GM feels the sense of urgency after not doing poo the previous year. He actually does his job then.

Forgive me if it's already been mentioned.  I haven't read the whole thread...

But David Newton that McCaffrey was the first of the Round 1 rookies from the draft to be inked to a contract.   I know it doesn't mean anything really, but I kind of like it.  There's just a certain ALL OUT mentality with the team this year.  Go after what you want aggressively.  Exciting times.

Took all of 12 hours

McCaffrey, listed as a running back but expected to be much more for Carolina, signed his standard four-year deal, as did wide receiver Curtis Samuel (second round) offensive tackle Taylor Moton (second round), defensive end Daeshon Hall (third round) and fullback Alex Armah (sixth round).

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
