Until we prove ourselves we are no better than last year. Hope is at an all time high for most teams at this time of year. Wait till week 6, many will feel like ass after they are winless or sitting with 1 win. We could be one of them as we have witnessed in the past.

That is stupid logic for sure. First of all no one has proved anything this year including the Falcons.  Second of all they are replacing their OC while we have finally given Cam and Shula the pieces they need to compete. Third our problem last year was a porous secondary and key injuries to Luke, Cam and the offensive line among others. With the addition on defense and Wilkes at the helm this unit will be top 10 if not top 5.

Sure nothing is a given but you are way off base

Gil Brandt: Falcons. Playing in the best division in the NFL, Matt Ryan continues to be outstanding and Dan Quinn is one of the best in the biz.

It's only a preseason guess. It's easy money to bet early on the favorite because no one remembers or gives a poo what was said a month from now.

We're always better as the underdog. He is right about the best division though IMO.

Totally agree with all of this.

Don't care about these predictions any more.  And we really DO seem to play better as an underdog for whatever reason.

I guess you haven't noticed yet that, in this day and age, media/journalists are all just sheep who mill around in their little safe-space and approved-opinion herds.

With each passing season, I care less and less about these predictions from the so called experts.

Right? When will you suckers learn? They didn't matter coming off mediocre years and they didn't matter coming off a Super Bowl year. If anybody could accurate predict this stuff, they would be multi-millionaires and wouldn't have to be a writer at NFL.com.

No one had us winning the division in 2015 after we cam off a bad 2014 season and KB tore his ACL and we had the leagues worst WR core on paper. There were no obvious signs we would do that well that year. And look what happened.

Alot of these predictions are so flawed because they rely too much on what happened and what teams were like LAST season. These things don't do a good job of taking into account how teams have changed in the offseason and actually being able to predict teams that have much better success than the previous year is pretty difficult and people just usually go with the safe bets based on last season .

O know one thing for sure...by the time mid-season rolls around and we are killing it and everyone is like whoa look at the Panthers...the number one thing that will be said all year...but they have an easy schedule. The Huddle will constantly complain about being disrespected and we will have endless threads trying to prove how our schedule is actually like Sisyphus pushing the rock up the mountain.

well it is an easier schedule than last year. But to be fair, the players have no control over that. They can only play the schedule given to them. To be honest that pissed me off in 2015 , other fans just kept invinting more excuses as to why we were winning, even the good teams we beat were having "down years." And they were all waiting for the perfect moment for us to implode and that appened in SB50 and gave all these troll fans of other teams exactly what they wanted.

We wont get consistent respect unless we start stringing together winning seasons.
