Armah or Barnage?

Even before the season I was seriously doubting that Olsen would get 1000 yds. again this year, but there's no doubt we're hurting without him. Barnidge keeps getting workouts but I never hear anything about any offers. Hard to believe he's total crap all of a sudden so maybe he's making it clear he won't come cheap.

With a team that relies on tight end play like us, bringing Barnidge in should be a TOP priority right now.  TOP.    Also the additional blocking because, we're going to need it.

If you want this defense to stay fresh & finish off game  then  TE  like Barnidge is necessary.

Panthers also need to use Byrd & Samuel in the deep routes and stretch defenses out

Or we could just use the WR's more. KB and Funchess both proved that they can get open and make clutch catches yesterday.

You're not going to replace Olsen's role with any free agent. It's going to have to be with multiple players and KB, Funchess and Dickson looks like the most likely committee.

I'd be game with Armah assuming he learned his new position enough.

I'm not sure how many times it needs to be said:

Armah does not play tight end and our offensive coordinator doesn't even know what a pass catching H-back is.

Ed Dickson has lined up as a pass catching H-Back fairly often this season sooo

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
