Top Panthers things to be thankful for?

im thankful to have all you fukers to entertain me when ish is boring at work! <3

And also thankful that the Panthers have won as much as they have. Seriously if you told me after the last preseason game that

  1. Greg Olsen would miss 8.5 games,
  2. Luke would miss 1.5,
  3. Ryan Kalil would miss 8,
  4. Kurt Coleman would miss 3.5, and
  5. we would trade Kelvin Benjamin away after 8 games...

and then told me we'd be 7-3 after 10 games, i would laugh in your face.

This team has faced so much adversity and has only lost due to self-inflicted mistakes. The only game we were truly out-played was the Saints game, and we were still an offense figuring out its pieces and had just lost our main one (Greg). Our defense hadn't truly settled in yet either. yes, im hyping myself up, but you have to admit, this ought to give us so much hope for the last leg of the season and the playoffs. This team probably hasnt truly hit its stride yet. Watch us hit it in the Saints game when Greg has had a week to get back in game mode.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
