His brother still sucks though.   Multiple facemasks last week and then another drive killing facemask this week.  Also multiple whiffs on run blocking when he has to pull outside

He was actually solid for much of the game against very good pass rushers who are very familiar with how bad Matt can be. And the face mask wound up being our 2nd TD because of the Vikings’ stupid face masks on D that drive. But yeah that was bad, especially because he still allowed the sack. Outside of that play he was mostly solid.

Certainly the best option if he's healthy but he's getting up there and I don't expect him to be 100% ever again.

Our rush numbers came on two huge plays this week. We've had better all around and total rush days with Larsen too.

The vikings only allowed a max of 70 something rushing yards before today if i recall correctly.

take away those two big runs and we still crush that.

I get what youre saying, but ive never understood when people say, "take away this one big play and..."  well, you can't lol.  Those plays happened.  And it matters because i ask, "would those big runs have happened if Kalil wasn't in there?"  We don't know, but I don't recall any other game that Larsen started where we broke off two different runs of 40+ yards.  Yes, they are an anomaly, but they happened, and they happened for a reason.

Also, many coaches dont care so much about YPC as they do the attempts, as a sign of balance and production.  And many would take a 3-4 YPC as a bonus to the number of attempts.

All that being said, I don't think there's any doubt, we definitely need to groom an eventual replacement, but Ryan is vital to what we do.  So as long as he's healthy, i suspect he'd restructure (if needed) and remain here, as we would want him to.

yea these "well if you take this out" arguements irk the hell out of me.

* "Well if you take out Cam's MVP season he's a trash QB"

* "Well what if you ignore Cam's rushing stats? He's a mediocre QB"

* "Well if you take out Fournettes long runs hes a trash RB"

Bruh, what happens if you take out all of the 20+ yard runs from hall of fame running backs? What if you take all the 40+ yard bombs from hall of fame QBs?

Fact is this poo happened and people want to ignore it to make their arguments look plausible. Stew still had to recognize that the hole was there and physically run through it and get all those yards, and it ended in a crucial touchdown. How bout you leave it in his rushing stats?

No, they averaged 77.7 prior to this game and gave up 102 last week.

Those 2 to 4 yard runs that seem so mundane, are like body blows in boxing to set up the big punch. That's exactly how it's supposed to work in the run game. This isn't college, where guys can average 8 yards per carry. When your run game is solid this is what you see. Chip away a little at a time and eventually you soften them up enough to break a big run......That's what it's all about at this level. Problem this year has been just getting those "body blows"....Lets hope today is the start of real consistency in the run game. :-)

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
