Should Carolina Rest Starters Against the Falcunts?

Thats a terrible fuging idea. We didn't execute this game , if we close out the last game of the season in a lopsided loss with bench players you dont want that negative mojo carrying into the playoffs

Youve seen what happens when this team gets all upset , negative, and frustrated. You want as much positive momentum as possible going into the playoffs.

Some of you guys are acting like were 15-0 and have a lock on the 1 seed and we can just chill and rest everyone? fug that man. I wouldn't do it.

Not after the pitiful showing we had today.

Meh games like that happen. Often times games like today are just the kick in the pants we need. It was a classic trap game scenario, along with major off field distractions, and we pulled through. Not worried about it

Hopefully the Panthers/Falcons game will be flexed to Sunday night.  That would be EXTREMELY helpful because if they do, they'll already know the result of the earlier NO/TB game.

If NO lost, then go full strength because then the Panthers could win the division with a win over the Falcons.

If NO already won?  The result of the Falcons game doesn't mean jack.  Rest and substitute as you see fit.

I don't think this strategy works very often. Yes, it's nice to avoid the possibility of a serious injury. But at the same time, you don't want your starters to get rusty.

If the Saints lose, we can still end up as high as the number 2 seed (depending on the Rams and Vikings games).

Winning a championship in any sport is about peaking at the right time of the year and momentum. It would be a big mistake to take the foot of the gas especially given that our offense has not been consistent this year.

Carolina would be playing to try to obtain the 2nd seed.  In order for that to happen, they would have to beat the falcons, Saints lose, Vikings lose.  Not sure about the Rams.  Carolina should remain the 5th seed regardless if they lose.  Staying the 5th seed gives them a path of the Saints, Eagles, Rams/Vikings.  Thats the best case scenerio imo.

Not no, but HELL NO.

If we're not flexed, you play for the win 100%, if we're playing at night and know what happened in the saints game, it changes things depending on the saints game.  Saints win, rest big time vets (cam, luke, TD, Pep, R Kalil, Olsen, Stewart).  If saints lose, balls to the wall break the falcons spirit.  FWIW, I think the odds of the saints losing to the bucs is in the 10-15% range.

I am hoping we do get flexed, and with the Foulcans going for a playoff spot, I suppose its possible.  Nice to know if we should go all out or rest some guys.  Byrd, Funchess, and Olsen should sit if possible, as those are three guys that we just can't afford to go into the playoffs without.

But if we do have a shot  at the division, have to go for it.
