Unless you wanna elaborate on how our S play has been good?

Yep.  Safety play has been abysmal.  We easily have 4 positions in the secondary that need upgraded.  Throw in LT, power RB, and FB, and WR...makes it hard to blame coaching when there are 7-8 positions that field below average players. That’s 40% of our starters.

Our safety play has been bad to.  But our CBs have been garbage as well.

Only thing thats saved them are drops by WRs this year

Zay Jones, Julio, Thielan, etc

Evans was punking our CBs mossing them.  ESPNs whole you got mossed could have just been on our CBs alone.

The only ints theyve had this year were when it deflected off their man who was open or when the QB was throwing off his back foot being hit.  I have not seen Bradberry (in seasons) make a play on the ball.

No disagreement there. I think Adams has been pretty solid for the most part but Coleman seems to have really regressed.

The difference is that we know our safeties are pretty much stop gaps. We're hoping our CBs are long-term answers.

I know it's obvious because of the age but we didn't get the Indy Mike Adams. He's not Coleman bad but damn....we also gonna need DEs to develop all of ours are old as poo except for Cox and there is 0 reason to bring CJ back next year.

Both of our starting corners are 6'1"(listed) and taller than our 5'11"(listed) S's.....

Not sure where you think we're going to be getting any taller there(Norman 6'0 listed)

I meant that as a shot at us only targeting captain munnerlynn in FA this past off-season at CB, and he doesn't have the size to compete outside meaning he really wasn't a threat to unseat Worley or bradberry.

Completely agree.  I feel like Adams has been getting torched more often than Coleman (maybe it's because Coleman missed a couple of games).

Just constantly seems he is letting folks get behind him.

At this point, I really want to see Jairus Byrd play more because I haven't seen him get beat... but could be too late for that

Coleman is just a lump of muscle that can't leave the ground, doesn't have a nose for the ball at all, and runs like a 40 year old.

Adams is the kind of player you have at safety when you ran out of options and had to make move out of desperation to throw someone out there.

And yet, we're 11-4.

They've played against the likes of Rodgers, Brady, Ryan, Brees, Winston, Stafford, Wentz and a surprisingly good Case Keenum this year. Let's take that Trubisky game out (although our secondary wasn't the problem there). And they've done it with aging safeties and the underwhelming performance of Captain Munnerlyn at nickel.

And really, only one of those was it close to a blow out (that first one against the Saints).

The stats might say they suck, but the record speaks for itself. Right now, they are just good enough to slow down a good offense. And sometimes that's all you need.

(And Worley has been turning it on pretty good in the last few games).

If we stick with these guys, they're going to be a good tandem. A really good tandem.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
