Any shot of him bringing Shula of the unemployment line as his OC?

That would send Larry Fitzgerald straight to retirement.  They’d probably trade us a ton of picks for Derek Anderson as long as he agrees to take poo seriously this time around.

i think taking a head coaching gig with a team that isn't expected to do much is a smart move, especially for Wilks being a first timer. Ownership will have patience with him, and the expectations and pressure to come in and succeed immediately will be pretty low.

The browns have 0 expectations since 1999, and have turned through coaches as much as their QBs

Munchank turned down a second interview there, although I think it's an appealing organization, just not currently as a personnel group.

AZ has some good defensive players in Peterson, Mathieu, Budda, & Bucannon but their DL is severely lacking.

Interesting take is that if Wilks goes there, they may make a full-on defensive scheme change.  This could leave room to ship Buccanon who would be a mighty fine SS here.  He's undersized for a Shaq role and has been too vital to that front, however Budda and Mathieu are cemented in the d-backfield.    Deon Buccanon anyone??

Rivera has all but directly stated that if Wilks gets a new job, Eric Washington replaces him.

The only other option would be Al Holcomb if Washington followed Wilks to his new team. If something happened and both were gone, Rivera has a preference for people he knows well so you're probably looking at someone like Bob Babich.

They need to get someone with actual DC experience, not try to "promote from within".

The Cardinals, meanwhile, will wage on with a search that has included Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo and in-house candidate James Bettcher, the team's defensive coordinator.

Well three Avenues to follow.  In house with Bettcher who I know nothing about.

Offensive minded John DeFilippo who really did a good job with Wentz and they are expected to target Lamar Jackson and this would be a good marriage.   I personally think Jackson is going to be another The Golden Calf of Bristol/Manziel/RGIII failure but with a rookie QB they will need a good offensive minded coach.

Defensive minded in Wilks.  Not much experience as a DC but is well respected among the players and would probably be a good head coach.  The Cardinals need some work on Defense and the offense needs overhaul but his defense might keep them afloat while they fix the offense.

Bruce was an offensive minded coach so management might be leaning for another offensive coach so I think DeFilippo will be their #1 target.

Like I said, worst HC opening by a good bit.  And don't think that would buy him more time either.  Very few coaches survive their first three seasons not making the playoffs, and it's going to be very tough sledding in AZ in that division and the NFC at large.  Steve would be better off waiting another year.
