I Honestly Wouldn't Mind Spending This Entire Draft on Defense Picks

That is , provided we get a good WR or even 2 WRs in free agency.  Take this sim for example:

Round 1 Pick 24: Arden Key, DE/OLB, LSU (A)
Round 2 Pick 23: Duke Ejiofor, DE, Wake Forest (B+)
Round 3 Pick 21: Armani Watts, FS, Texas AM (A+)
Round 3 Pick 24: Sony Michel, RB, Georgia (A+)
Round 5 Pick 24: Adonis Alexander, CB, Virginia Tech (A+)
Round 6 Pick 23: Trey Marshall, SS, Florida State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 16: John Atkins, DT, Georgia (A+)
Round 7 Pick 24: Michael Hill, DT, Ohio State (A+)

Pretty much have an answer for every defensive issue we had last year draft wise . This is a massive influx of youth on dline and at Saftey we desperately need. And I somehow picked up Sony Michel in the bottom of the 3rd round, who has VERY good burst and a sturdy build to be an all around 3 down back and carry the load while we use CMC more as a WR .  5'11'' 216 lbs. Really I would love Michel, Chubb, or Penny in the 3rd would be perfect.

no speed runner pls we need a power runner like chubb or freeman

In 2016 draft, Gettleman literally drafted 3 CBS, a DT, and a TE that's never played a down for us and was off the roster by the time the season started. So essentially, an all defense draft.

The problem is he overdrafted at CB, did not take any DEs or Safteys which was moronic in hindsight and theres no suprise we are old and undertalented in those positions today.

I can't be upset about Bradberry and Worley when you consider that we no longer had JNo AND Peanut. Yea, I would have preferred Kendall Fuller to Worley but he was hurt a good bit during his initial contract with Chicago so in hindsight we at least got some value at the pick.

But after Worley? No DE nor S outside of Jalen Mills, who was taken by Philly in the 7th before the Sandland pick (I was high on Sandland, thought he looked solid during the combine. I'm guessing he was a good pass catching tight end with poor blocking strength (his technique seemed good)), looks worth it.

Kevin Byard, Carl Nassib, Yannick Ngakoue, Darian Thompson, and Shilique Calhoun are all arguable in comparison to Bradberry. I'd have preferred Shon Coleman, but that's just me. If we are looking for a specific position, then we are in the same boat as Gettleman and therefore no better imo.

Dude is 220. He ain't no scatback. I'd take him over Chubb if they were both on the board, but I'd rather have Chubb because I don't think Michel will be there in the 3rd and that's the earliest I'd want to take another RB. I think Chubb will be there in the 3rd and at that point in the draft he'd start looking mighty attractive to us IMO.

Sweet,...

then we just bring in 2 FA wide receivers, sign a free agent running back, actually I’m on the Deon Lewis kick, can rotate freely in and out with CMac without changing the offense.

I would love Lewis if we didn’t have CMC. If Stewart gets cut, we will need a power back. Chubb would be good and I feel like Jeremy Hill would play well here. To me, he was not used correctly in Cincy.

I just don’t see stewart getting cut. CAP yes.

For non believers you could cut Stewart, get Lewis and ride with him CMac and CAP. Lewis would probably fit in that 3.7 million saved from Stewart.

Lewis is just too versatile, like CMac, and can line up at wide receiver so he can serve 2 functions.

i liked Hill coming out, but I haven’t watched his pass protection?

If you don't prioritize OL this offseason, either with a stud pickup in FA (don't think there will be any), a killer trade (not a chance anybody in this league gives up a starting OL for picks) or a draft pick in the first 2 rounds, you'll see more of the same from this past season. Matt Kalil is useless, depth at C is not great as Larsen is just no the answer there, and we have no idea what we have in Moton really. After Moton and Larsen, talented depth along the OL is sorely lacking.

Fix the OL, get a WR (Funch is solid, but aside from him we don't know what we have in terms of a full healthy season at this position. Plus, if Byrd or Samuel go down, that puts Bersin right back on the field), get a Safety and MAYBE a CB if you don't snag one out of free agency. After that, fill in depth as needed. I can't see how anybody can think anything else as those are our most pressing needs.

    • Lol Atlanta looks to have lost their young edge rusher, has no 1st round pick, a complete mess at QB, a new coaching staff… And we swept them this year. Says what they think of us.
    • I mean, you can only go so far with the propping up. When a guy's numbers are as bad overall as Bryce's you have to try to find specific niches to sell. It's just funny that they're honing in on where he's probably weakest to try to prop him up. Whether it's a pro-Bryce conspiracy or not, it echos my chief complaint about PFF's analysis for years. When your purely statistical analysis badly skews from the eye test of actually watching the games, it should be screaming at you that you need to modify your system not double down on it. PFF is awesome at compiling stats but their grade systems are highly flawed and they never seem to try to improve them.
    • Then why is Byce also last in other PFF stats?  The deep ball thrower stat by PFF can simply be flawed vs some conspiracy trying to prop up a QB on a team that a former employee now works for.  Both of these guys were also hired AFTER the Panthers had already drafted Bryce.  Trying to prop him up with a made up stat while he struggled would be a detriment to their own team honestly.
