With Worley done, the 2016 draft looks like one of our worst ever

And these J-No down-talkers can say what they want, we saw enough raw flashes in his game during his rookie season that we knew that there may be something special to his game. He was benched for going too far off the script and freelancing back there, so he ended up in Rivera's doghouse. His play was arguably as never terrible as what Bradberry put down last season, but even if you think that it was, it wasn't for lack of talent. He absolutely outplayed his 5th round draft status.

You too have  creative memory about Norman's early showing.

This. It's like people have forgotten that all of us fans were begging for Norman to get more PT because he always looked good when he actually got on the field.

No he didn't. People were begging to see more of him because of one play from fan fest.

And what exactly was Norman doing 2 seasons into his career? Living in Riveras dog house becuse he sucked ass

Wrong.

At that point in time the team had no body at CB. Norman was the future. He wasn’t in the dog house because he sucked, he was in there because Rivera did not know how to deal/coach him. He played far too aggressive and had an attitude that took over. Good coaching will mold that, Rivera simply took him out. Norman was flashing like crazy.

Luckily Nomran matured on his own realizing he wasn’t going to play, but to say he was sat because he sucked makes me think you weren’t watching at all. He came back and immediately was one of the best players on the team before and after an injury. He did not all of a sudden learn to play on the bench.

What makes matters worse is this couldn't have happened at the worst time. Right after a Super Bowl appearance where we were primed to supposedly make another postseason run in a weakened NFC while our division was still reeling. Now the NFC South has strengthened around us while we faltered.

The posters that rationalize this failure, and make excuses are just white noise, no different than the fans that used to make excuses for Hurney's failures years ago. The sad part is these fans somehow fail to realize they have become exactly that which they so steadfastly condemn.

First team in NFL history to go 15-1 and then miss the playoffs entirely the next season.

I still can’t get over this. Something went amuck somewhere for it to happen, as teams don’t just fall off a cliff like that.

The off-season after that run was terrible, and it has set us back. It all started with the bone headed move of removing Norman’s franchise tag. Gettleman panicked, and drafted 3 CB’s, with 2 of them turning out to be complete duds. Bradberry has to pan out.

Butler shouldn’t have been picked, and the guy a lot of folks on here were screaming for, Hunter Henry, should’ve been.

McC was the 8th overall pick. That pick is more than twice as valuable as pick 31 (where Butler was taken). Dumb example. Butler has been injured and even when healthy hasn't had much of an opportunity at all. He may not get it here with KK and Poe healthy but it's way too early to call him a bust. I wouldn't be surprised if we traded him on draft day and he made a pro bowl elsewhere.

In 2 years, Butler has had enough opportunities. Plus the coaching staff are the ones who see Butler everyday in practice so I’m sure if he’s not getting a lot of PT, it’s for a reason. It’s easy for you to say “ he’s not getting enough chances when all you see of him is in Sunday’s on your TV” pick 1 or 32 in the first, it doesn’t matter. Butler is a letdown plain and simple

Same reason Aaron Rodgers never saw the field his first THREE years. When Butler was drafted we had no clue if we could keep KK. That deal wound up getting done making Butler a poor positional pick, but as far as how good he is as a player it's unbelievably stupid to try to evaluate him and call him a bust after 2 years behind KK and Star. Heck for all we know KK may go down in camp this year and Butler steps right in and fills his shoes. Then is he still a huge bust like people here have already labeled him? I'm not making a judgement on how likely that is or even what my opinion is on what Butler will do in the rest of his career, just calling out the dumb argument that he's already a bust.
