Tarvarius Moore

Everyone seems worried about drafting a safety really early since it seems like a huge need, which I agree

What if we go Moore and Ragnow early or Jackson and Chubb?  What options do we have of finding a safety later in the draft, that 3-5 range?

For all of you guys who follow drafting more than myself what do you know about Tarvarius Moore.  For a guy that wasn't invinted to the combine there seems to be talk of him on the second day now.

6'2", 4.32 40 yard dash at pro day and 38.5 Vert

Who else would you consider in the mid part of the draft?

Yeah he started getting a lot of buzz after pro day after he ran a 4.3. I don’t think he is a day one starter.  Needs help with his angles.  But he isn’t afraid to tackle.

It seems as though we are only talking about 2 safeties. But Terrell Edmonds, Marcus Allen, and Moore are also intriguing.

The fact that he didn’t get a combine invite is pretty telling. The selection process for participants is intended to account for every player they think will ultimately be drafted. The committee that selects who gets an invite to the combine consists of personnel from most every NFL team, and every NFL team does give their input to the committee on who they think should be invited.

His measurables are very impressive but it may end there.

Reid and Harrison seem to dominate talk, but Jessie Bates, Armani Watts, and Deshon Elliott all interest me quite a bit. Probably in that order of preference.

Wow, nothing to hate on those clips/ write ups. I've been looking at Jessie Bates III, Marcus Allen, and Kyzir White (all of which we visited with) as our 3rd rd safety prospects, but this guy just made the list!

edit: 3rd rd is where I feel we draft a safety unless a top prospect drops.

I'll say this: I've got nothing against him, haven't checked him out of anything like that, but guys who just suddenly come out of nowhere late in the draft process make me nervous.

Drafting in the bottom of the 3rd is always a gamble.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
