Who is your off the board wild card pick at #24?

I wouldn't be shocked if we took Lamar Jackson at #24. Now people may say why the hell would we draft a QB?

1. We need a backup for Cam. Yes he is the franchise, but with his style of play you got to start thinking longterm about his health and potential risk to more injuries. What better QB for Cam to take under his wing than Lamar Jackson? Jackson can learn from Cam and maybe even see playing time on wildcard packages and gadget plays. Drafting Lamar Jackson at #24 allows us to have a QB for the future and a reliable backup in case Cam gets injured. It wouldn't shock me if we took him in the 1st round.

Who is your wildcard pick at #24 that would shock the fans?

Taking a developmental backup #24 overall when you have a 29 year old franchise QB would be dumb as hell. You start looking for you QB of the future once your established starter is mid-30s. We should be 4-5 years away from that.

I'll go with Kolton Miller as my wildcard. No one is talking about OTs for us this year for the first time in just about forever, but Matt Kalil just isn't all that great and who knows what type of contract Daryl Williams might command.

Id say any Tight End or Offensive Tackle would be very unexpected.

Id flip my table if Hurney picked D. Payne... I think hes like the 2nd rated DT or something , but Ive had enough DTs to last me a few years since Gettlemans tenure and Hurney flubbing on Fua and McClain. I just hope he stays the hell away from DT.

I think we will be in position to possibly draft the # 3 saftey, #3 CB, there are a lot of signs pointing to this pick being made on the secondary.

Readlly wild card pick - Taven Bryan

Surely I'm not the only person who thinks the JJ Watt comparisons are absurd.  Watt had double the tackles, triple the tackles for loss, and double the sacks in two seasons at Wisconsin as Bryan did in three at Florida.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
