below average measurables in virtually every athletic category for his position

it's true, Gaulden is a below average athlete for an NFL DB

the ability to play multiple positions with physicality ... quick and explosive burst...natural athlete...the knock is he is too aggressive sometimes and needs to keep emotions in check...doesn't sound unathletic to me...

I'm an FSU fan and Josh Sweat is overrated as hell because of his athleticism. Right now is the nitpicky portion of the draft when literally all these GMs are throwing crap against the wall and ruining basement mock drafts

I’m probably a bigger FSU fan... and I would say in the 4th round Sweat would have been a steal. As did ever analyst talking... what are u talking about... u bashing sweat when we just drafted a 6’2 235 pash rusher when we could have had sweat?

Elite first step. Major production. Undersized, but tough and still has room to grow. May never be a full-time starter but could be our Mario Addison role (before last year) for the next 5 years.

I'm just not a fan of one-dimensional players, especially a guy who is smaller and a lesser athlete than others guys we could've picked.

People are comparing him to Mario...  Mario was about 10 lbs. naturally heavier than Haynes coming out.

Imagine trotting this guy out at any point against any QB capable of calling an audible.  They're running right at him.

We just picked another Daeshon Hall, both are great pass rushers, but undersized.  FWIW, I'm ok with this pick, but how Hall looks this season will 100% tell us whether or not we have the training staff to get him bulked up properly without losing his speed.

Also, just saying, I'm very big on Daeshon Hall, I think he's gonna be a huge surprise to a lot of people this year with him having a full season to bulk up.

You know Hall is 6'6 270 right?? That's way bigger than Charles Johnson ever was in his career.. This guy is a OLB I hope Rivera doesn't do the force him into a DE role.. But Hall is a Prototype DE ...

I remember reading a lot of stuff about him that for him to properly work in a 4-3, he would need to add 15-20 pounds so he can keep the edge.  He's working to take the spot that CJ/Peppers was, this kid will be a replacement for Mario Addison.  Measurables fit for both, but weight in muscle is needed for both guys.  Just my opinion though.

Hall needed to just add some more strength in an NFL strength program, like most college players need to do, particularly mid rounders. He''s pretty much ideal size for a DE. Haynes is certainly undersized but so was Addison and he's turned out to be a beast.

The workout measurables don't lie. Workout measurables can certainly be overrated sometimes, but they are what they are - actual quantitative data regarding pure athleticism.

The Eric Norwell thing is a perfect example of this pick .. I hope they don't make the same mistake and just let dude learn how to be a LB and leave the DE thing alone.. He can be a stand up Blitzer from the LB position without putting his hands in the dirt and being a DE..

there is a difference between pure athleticism and unathletic...that was the point ...I see no reason to think he is an unathletic DB

Well we drafted an unathletic safety tweener already, TE with 35 career catches, and now a DE barely big enough to be a LB

some of us are very let down with our picks as a whole

With so much room for growth and no current pressure time to learn from a HOF teacher really good option.

I'm not, just saying our handling of the picks signifies indecision and a lack of direction.  We clearly had a pass rusher as a need, otherwise we wouldn't have felt compelled to trade up for one.  So if it was a need, why not get a guy who is actually semi-built to do it instead of drafting corners who test out at the 2nd percentile to play safety?

We as in the Huddle it we what Ron and co think they need to be successful this year and on? Because I think they believe Hall/Cox are enough with Pep and Addy. Along with adding Pass rushing Poe we've addressed it.

Yup measurables are just a part of it not overwhelming but game tape says he knows how to play. Let's see how he performs. I see fire turnovers aggression attitude along with his stats saying in the sec he had great coverage skills.

This

Our household donates to the noles club

Sweat is going to be a Steal. IF he stays healthy.

Dude has played a 3-4 DE.

Just imagine Arden Key playing the same position as Jonathon Allen did at Bama.  Keys name wouldnt even be out there.

His build isnt for that interior and gets held up Easily by OGs.  He is built for setting the edge with his speed.  And with him playing 3-4DE, now has developed some inside moves others dont have in their arsenal

If it were me drafting I wouldve gone Sweat first then traded up for Dalton Schultz
