Will we hear from/see JR any more?

I'm going off what I've read and heard from different sources; Breer, Gantt, LaCanfora and others among them.

As mentioned, the NFL was going to suspend Jerry Richardson at the start of the season if this dragged on that long. And MechaZain is right, that's one reason that the sale was expedited.

They don't want this story in the public eye any longer.

Once the team is sold him being at a game or around the team isn’t a story. League doesn’t care about what’s right or wrong they care about money and how the publicity ties in to that. With Tepper as owner the JR story is dead no matter what he does from now on. He could pound the drum before the SB and it wouldn’t be a big deal for the league at all. Just a minor footnote that no one would care about.

And if we were to win the SB I can’t see him not being a part of it. He’s still extremely close to everyone in the front office and many of the players and with the team in general. Doubt Tepper would care to share that with the guy who chose to sell the team to him and who built the team in the first place.

Quick Question: Was Jerry Richardson the only person involved in the story?

You want to have him around? Okay. Sell that to his accusers.

Better still, sell the NFL on letting him continue to appear in public while hoping his accusers just sit back and say nothing about it.

When the sale is finalized and the team is 100% Tepper's, you won't ever hear from JR again, nor will he ever grace the steps of BOA stadium.

The reason is that nobody will want to rehash this all over.  If he shows up, whether for a game or just to check in, it will become a huge issue with lots of coverage, bringing back up all this old baggage.  He wants this to go away, so will never put himself in a position where he has to deal with it again.  And to be honest, Tepper probably wouldn't want him here, talk about awkward.

Not to mention, I doubt Jerry wants to be reminded of what he had to give up.  It would be hugely painful for him to show up.  Most likely, when he walks away, he'll completely wash his hands of the Panthers.

    • To all the analysts who said "Caps in 5", thank you for telling us their departure time.
    • We won't know the answer to this for a long time. Reality is, Caleb has been the consensus #1 in that draft for years. Bryce was a similar situation, but mostly the same. He was not the clear and obvious #1 that Caleb was, but most teams had Bryce at QB1. The Panthers were always going to be terrible Bryce's rookie year.  I don't think DJ Moore's presence would have changed anything about that offense, as our guards, center, and left tackle were getting demolished on nearly every snap. It's clear Caleb's dad was trying to do everything possible to ensure Caleb didn't end up in Chicago with Eberflus. It's hard to imagine that he wouldn't have done the same, but probably more publicly with our situation, considering Carolina is an easier target for the media than Chicago. We can all speculate, but it's impossible to tell who is going to have the better career on May 16, 2025. If either QB doesn't pan out, we have an easy answer. If both flame out, the bears clearly won the trade, but it wouldn't have really mattered anyway. We all know how we win the trade. Candidly, even if one of the other picks we gave up ends up being a hall of fame player, we don't know if the panthers would have taken that player anyway. All you can do is make the best decision you can in the moment with the information you have. I really like Bryce Young, and I'm glad he's a Carolina Panther.  The only way to win in the modern NFL is to have an absolute dude at QB. I personally am happy that our franchise recognizes this, as I remember times when they did not.
