I survived lymphoma twice.

Folks, I do not want to seem petty, or take away from your sincerity, but most of us who went through chemo and visits to Duke or other oncology centers witnessed bald children in pajamas and helium balloons smiling in the middle of crying families.  We saw women walking around with tubes running into their breasts.  From the walk through the parking lot where nearly every car features a pink ribbon magnet on the back to the nauseating taste of chemo in the back of your throat, It is a hellish place.  Until these places are eliminated from existence and everyone is cured, please be careful about saying "S/he beat cancer."  Cancer is alive and well in every corner of our communities. We survive it.  Luck is as important as stamina, attitude, and medicine.  Please do not say anyone beat cancer--they did not--they beat the odds.

Best of luck and prayers to Gman. Regardless of how you feel like he did as our GM you don't revel in another person being diagnosed with Cancer or an other serious disease.
