There's been talk that our not wanting him here wasn't strictly performance related. Not in the sense of off field incidents or anything. Just certain...ideals, I guess you'd say.

No idea if that's the case. Things have changed at the top now, so going forward, who knows?

There had to be something more to it than just football reasons. We were fielding a banged up Funchess and a bunch of practice squaders in a playoff game with a guy who knew our offense and who'd had some level of success on it watching from his couch. That doesn't make sense from a pure football perspective.

Brown had some electrifying moments in the playoffs not that long ago.

From a business perspective, making money with an NFL team has zero to do with winning. And if the bottom line isn't affected by the product you put on the field, personnel decisions matter very little beyond staying under the cap.

hope he catches on with DEN.. he struggled with drops but came up in the clutch for sure with us..

always liked him and desperately wanted him last year against NO in the playoffs..

I thought the drop issues only happened during that one preseason, right? Or am I completely wrong and have just forgotten completely.

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
