Thats the thing though, Ron is so loyal to his vets.  Its almost impossible he is going to bench His guy unless injured.

Like pointed out.  After released by the Bears, no one gave him a phone call untill we did the offseason.

The dude is terrible and only reason he has a job is because he's Ron's boy.

He has gotten Cam kileld in the past yet he is still on this roster.   He has got wrecked in camp, yet still on this roster.  Then you have undrafted guys looking much better than him.  But Ron will throw this trash right back into the starting lineup despite being outplayed.  Just because he's.......a vet.

Heck who knows how lomg Norwell woupdve been on the bench had Amini never got hurt and Forced Ron to put him in.

Just think.  This dude got LESS phone calls than Byron Bell or Remmers when in the open market.  Yet he is still here, and still a starter over young guys who have played better than him

Like I have been saying. The past may shape the future, but it does not define it.

Everyone is letting their fear of the past cloud their view of the future. Moton has looked good, maybe he keeps it. There is a very good chance, barring injury, the Kalil never sees LT again. The same with Van Rotten. He has shown consistency. If he can continue to do so, he may be our LG for quite a while.

Until Coach actually puts Amini ahead of Van Rotten. I am planning on believing Amini is out in the cold. You all can freak if you want. Over something that has yet to happen. But I am going into this season thinking that Moton, and Van Rotten are our future.

I would like to believe this as well too.

But this is Rivera.

You know the saying fool me once shame on you

Fool me twice shame on me

Well weve been fooled multiple times by Rivera doing that.  So its hard to believe anything otherwise that he will start his vet until a injury occurs

I guess I am going to have to bow out of this conversation. Although I never thought I would change the world. I did expect some folks to understand. But alas...it is not to be. Too many people too afraid of the past to see that the future is not set in stone.

Man, Sunday can't get here soon enough. I want this Soap Opera to end.

This should be interesting to watch this weekend

Browns undrafted rookie to start at left tackle vs Steelers

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Months ago, Desmond Harrison was confident he'd replace Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas.

The Browns only realized it in the past few days.

An undrafted rookie with a checkered past, Harrison will open the season as Cleveland's starting left tackle — a position held down by Thomas, a future Hall of Famer, for more than a decade — on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I'm replacing Joe, so I know how big it is," Harrison said.

It's a remarkable jump for Harrison, who last season was pile-driving players at Division II Georgia State after not playing for three years following his dismissal at Texas.

To Harrison, it's just football on a larger stage.

Even the best coaches have flaws (Belichick often does things out of spite, which is dumb).  Unfortunately, this is one of Rivera's.

Flaws can be overcome.  Whether or not this one will be remains to be seen.

This. The question is, does Rivera know his flaws? If he does, he'll trust Norv.  The good news is that he seems like a guy who is pretty self-aware and he has probably trusted his OC in the past. Remember who that was? At least now it's Norv.
