CarolinaHuddle Pick'em - Week 2

Hey y'all! So before I get on with Week 2, need to do alittle accounting.

First, let's review how last week's commenters did:

     • @t96 11/16, .688

     • @nickzz 11/16, .688

     • @mbarbour21 11/16, .688

     • @PntherPryd 11/16, .688

     • @L-TownCat 11/16, .688

     • @Panthers8969 11/16, .688

     • @FakePlasticTrees 10/16, .625

     • @XOBlackxJokerOX 10/16, .625

     • @Jackofalltrades 10/16, .625

     • @kungfoodude 9/16, .563

     • UpstatePanther: 9/16, .563

¤ To add a twist to our competition, I will add a "Power Point" to each weekly winner. This power point will act like an extra win at the end of the season and may have some bearing on a possible playoff at the end of the regular season. Still mulling that last option over. The extra win may be the difference between being the Most Valuable Picker at the end of the season or not. You know, for bragging rights. Since there was no clear winner this week, no Power Point will be awarded.

¤ NOTE: Week 3 Will be my deadline for new participants to keep it as fair as possible to those who have been here since Week 1 while still allowing more people to join. Weeks 1 and 2 will be our “preseason” while I iron out the kinks and get some interest. Next season, we’ll have a better set up starting in the actual preseason. Come at us bruhs lol what you got??

Second item of business... @Mr. Scot made the suggestion of using an online Pick'em league and I did want to shout him out for the help. Unfortunately,  I couldn't find any leagues that were both free and easy to use. It only took me 15 minutes to review everyone's picks from last week, so unless this explodes and we start getting dozens of participants, I'll stick with organic topic creation on the Huddle.

Alright I'm done wasting your time. Here we go:

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
