Elliott, Gurley.... McCaffrey?

Did anyone else notice the Lev Bell-esque delay on a few runs (G-man told us)?  At the time, I would have picked Lattimore and personally would have thought about Kamara in the second (as he looked like the third best back in the draft to me) and definitely the third, but C-Mac is proving to be as tough as nails. Earlier in the year, I said that some guys, no matter the size, can handle the rigors of the NFL (l see you too, A-jax). I suggested that C-Mac may be one of those guys. That box has been checked.

This is his only game above 100 yards rushing.. If he can string together performances like these then yea he could hang with them

Only time will really tell. I want to see him that high on the leader boards at the end of the season and not just at the quarter mark.

Holy fug Kamara still giving him a run for his money too. But I guess it helps that the Saints defense is trash so Kamara and Brees are constantly trying to get a lot of yards

I deserve, and expect a lot of poo for this one...

I traded McCaffery for Nuke Hopkins week 2 in a half PPR fantasy league because I didn't think he was gonna get any TD work....

Lay it on me guys.

You deserve ALL the poo.

In a half PPR, with Olsen out and no clear cut WR safety blanket to take his receptions, you got rid of CMC who had 80 receptions last year as a rookie?

Bruh.

This was my biggest issue with the way we used him last year, telling him which gap he needed to hit and not letting him use his vision (which is one of his best qualities as a runner). He wasn't strong enough to beat the first man and ended up getting stuffed on most of his runs.

Now we're letting him choose his lanes a bit more, its not quite zone  because we still pull and most of the line movement is vertical but there are a lot more trap blocks that open timing lanes and give CMAC more options.

Yesterday was very exciting, especially when Armah was on the field- and could point to why we want someone like Mannhertz on the field more than Thomas at the moment.

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
