The Cardinals are apparently trying to trade LB-S Deone Bucannon. At around 215 lbs, I'd say he's better at safety. Not dead certain about the skill set, though. Buccanon is apparently a bad fit for Steve Wilks' defense.

Word also that the Raiders might be looking to part ways with non-hybrid corner Gareon Conley. Gruden apparently is prepared to bench him in favor of Darryl Worley and may move on from him entirely.

Both are former first round picks.

Gruden will pay for that mistake by putting Worley out on the field.

Bucannon would be very pricey. And we didn't like Worley, so what's to like about Conley?

Get Conley and Karl Joseph before Gruden realizes it’s not 2001. Buy low on that talent.

Unfortunately the Cardinals optioned for Bucannon's 5th year option, which he's now in. So if anyone decides to trade for him they only pick him up for one year unless they want to sign him long-term. Unlike baseball, you can't just get traded and be able to play the next game. That only works if you're a monster in football (think Khalil Mack). That's a no for me.

If a guy doesn't fit Wilks' defense in Arizona, not sure he's going to fit the remnants of Wilk's defense here in Carolina.

On the other hand, picking up the castoffs from Gruden's defensive genius seems to be paying off in spades for the Bears...

Eric has a one year deal and Adams is real close to the end of the road if we can buy cheap train him up he may produce down the line next year etc...

We should get Bucannon just so the Falcons can't. He'd be able to slide right into Deion Jones role, very similar players. He could play in our defense too, all our linebackers are lighter guys.

On the surface I like it, but I'm hesitant to invest significant resources in a DB right now when our D is built around a strong pass rush and all of our top DL are either pushing 30 or already over 30. We need DL. That Butler bust stings.
